Pretty sure with a buy out clause, any team can activate it and Barca have no say. It's all down to Thiago. If he wants to move to Madrid, he can as long as they pay the fee, Barca cannot force him to sign a new contract.

If I were you, I'd be hoping those EPL teams offer to pay the clause too so he doesn't go to Madrid.
