Real Madrid interested in Matuidi, according to France Football. He only has six months left on his current deal.

Matuidi could be a great signing but I would rather we go for Pogba who could slot in perfectly at the moment and has leaps of potential.
Then again, we could get both, and finally have a midfield that has some grit.
pogba--alonso--matuidi
would be much improved to our current set up

That would be too defensive.

Assuming Pobga would join us and Juventus are willing to sell. The former is possible, very much not sure about the latter.

The biggest problem we have is that our team is incredibly unbalanced. We get killed in the midfield because we think its fine to have 3 playmaker/possession based types. As we have seen, this gets killed against teams with any sort of decent midfield.
and trust me, just because matuidi and pogba can defend doesnt mean they cant attack. Both are more than capable in attack. They aren't anything like khedira, both Pogba and Matuidi have enough passing and technical ability to get by in our midfield.

Still, with Xabi and Modric who are quite good defenders, is enough to have one of Pogba/Matuidi. The perfect fit would be Vidal, but it's impossible to have him.

Gundogan's father:
"The interest from Madrid in my son is considerable", he told Spanish daily AS.
"They want to negotiate", Irfan Gundogan continued.
"Right now, we can do nothing until Ilkay has completely recovered from his back injury", added the player's father.
"We will enter into a discussion as soon as he is completely back on the pitch."

Makes no sense what so ever. Even less sense given the news that Xabi is much more likely to extend his contract.

Borussia Dortmund CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke has refuted reports from the Spanish media that claim Real Madrid have reached a preliminary transfer agreement with defensive midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan.
According to recent reports from Spanish sports daily, AS, Gundogan and Real Madrid have ironed out details and the German international could be on his way should Xabi Alonso chose not to renew his contract with the club, with Ilkay’s father Irfan’s recent comments stoking the fire.
“Madrid’s interest in my son is intense and they want to bid for him, but for now we can’t do anything until Ilkay fully recovers from his back injury. When he’s back playing regularly, we can talk.”
However, Ifran clarified his comments, telling Sueddeutsche that despite Real Madrid’s interest, “Borussia Dortmund will be the first point of contact for us. There are no discussions with other clubs.”
In an interview with German sports daily, Bild, Watzke himself chose to weigh in on the topic and insisted that they have no knowledge of a potential transfer bid from Real Madrid and are not worried about he player leaving, despite only having a year and a half remaining on his current contract.
“If we believed everything that has been said in the Spanish media about who was leaving us, we would have to worry about whether we could even put a team together. We have heard nothing from Ilkay, nor his father, to indicate that he wants to leave us.”

Hopefully we can buy these 2, and sign Matuidi for free in the summer.

Ancelotti:
Speaking to Madrid’s club site after after Thursday afternoon’s 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in Qatar, the Italian coach said he did not believe there was any reason for Blancos fans to be concerned about either issue.
"About Xabi Alonso we believe that in the end we will find a solution and the club and the player will reach an agreement," Ancelotti said. "The case of Casillas is very clear: he will play in the Champions League and also in the Copa del Rey."
Reports in Spain have suggested that Madrid might be busy in January’s transfer market, with reportedly unsettled winger Angel Di Maria perhaps leaving for Monaco, and a new striker or midfielder arriving at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. But Ancelotti said he did not expect his club to do any business in the current window.
"There is nothing new in that field," he said. "No players are going to leave, and we are not going to sign anybody. For us the market is closed."

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
the idea is that he wil go from bench to bench so it doesn't actually matter where he spends his time
but the prospect of having a loaned loaned out player is rather amusing

Siqueira went on loan to benfica because coentrao deal to united flopped. Otherwise, he has been the left back consistently highlighted by the local press to play back up for us.
The news that we will sign him for 6 mil when his loan is finished actually comes from a local paper in Granada, so Mundo Deportivo are only relaying the story.

Real Madrid and Sevilla reach agreement for Alberto Moreno, according to Seville Radio. He would cost €21m. Cheryshev, who is currently on loan at Sevilla from Real Madrid, would remain there.

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
Alvaro Morata striker has reportedly informed Real Madrid that he has decided to leave the club as soon as possible after falling down the pecking order behind Karim Benzema and Jese.
According to Spanish radio station, Cadena SER’s Carrusel Deportivo programme, Morata’s agent has informed the club of his client’s desire to leave the club this January, despite the coaching staff and sporting directors insisting they wish him to remain on the squad.
Morata, however, feels as if he has become an afterthought, despite giving his all in training and every time he’s on the pitch and wants to be either sold or loaned out by the end of the month.

why buy moreno when we can just recall cheryshev and save a few euros
makes more sense.
the club should be selling coentrao and recalling cheryshev from that loan.
ancelotti played him at left back in the preseason anyway.
