In what universe? Certainly not this one.
Moyes has spent more than 10m on a player twice since 2003. TWICE.
Wenger spent more than 10m on three players THIS SEASON. (and last season)

So what? They've both had to sell to buy since 05/06.
And just shows Wenger is the better manager even off the pitch. He continues to get into CL to raise some extra funds. He also doesn't go out and buy-dead wood. He nurtures talent. He buys for low and sells for high. Moyes is a lot like Harry Redknapp where he just signs "stop gap" players to improve the squad in the present but doesn't look to the future.

As things stand Rafa looks set to be the last manager to beat Fergie in a competitive match... ever.
I wonder if Fergie will throw the West Brom game just to ensure that little statistic doesn't go down in history.

On a separate note, it looks like Ferguson won't be meddling with the team affairs and tactics with regards to what happened after Busby resigned. He has stated that he'll only to stick to being a director and club ambassador.

Hardly competitive. The competition as a whole for Utd has been done and dusted since the title was won.

Dear lord some people will find any excuse. Competitive refers to the fact that it was part of an actual organized and meaningful competition, rather than being a friendly or testimonial or some such.

Gutted that Eric steele is gone too. He had a great relationship with De Gea and was partially responsible for his progress this season.

We can manage to beat them without him. That's why he always managed to win trophies.

Re: Moyes Watch
Most Man United fans and most Goal Legacy users are too harsh with David Moyes. The guy barely had the time to adapt himself with the club and the objectives over there.
We had a decent pre-season in which some of our young players performed pretty well. We took conclusions and we have all agreed that Januzaj, Lingard and Zaha are three talented players that we can't afford losing.
Moyes won the FA Community Shield against a weaker Wigan, but still he won a trophy. Then he won away at Swansea, one of the most difficult games of the season; personally I think he must be praised for bringing back the old Valencia. RvP seemed to be in form and he didn't look unhappy with the idea of a new coach. We did well against Chelsea, which is always a hard nut for us. The only disappointing moment since Moyes is our coach is the game at Anfield, but I think the Crystal Palace game will help him rebuild the confidence of his players. Also, a cold shower is always welcomed early in the season. It helps the manager to realise that there are still many aspects to be improved.
I'm an optimistic guy and I believe he will play with Zaha and Kagawa in the next games, due to the fact that Rooney is out for three weeks ( *bleep* Jones), along with Nani and Valencia on the RB until Rafael will be fit again.
Another thing is that he didn't insist to buy Fellaini when he was still under the clause that expired after 1st August. Yet, Ed Woodward is more to blame than Moyes, he had ought to warn Moyes about this; it's not Moyes who has to worry about transfer details, he only has to give names and Woodward is the one who has to take care of everything when it comes about the transfer policy of the club.
So, I'm still confident that Sir Alex made the right choice when he decided that his successor has to be Moyes.

Re: Moyes Watch
yea so far he disappointed us fans only in that match against LFC . Until that he did well. He can rectify that certainly by keeping out players like Young, Giggs etc out of even the subs list and starting with Kagawa and Zaha, Hernandez against Palace and getting us the full 3 points.
Fans arent actually mad at him, they(we) are mad at that idiotic CEO of ours.

Re: Moyes Watch
I have faith in Moyes.
I feel sorry for him seeing how this transfer window turned out, he isn't completely blameless, but it does seem like things didn't go his way. I think Cesc and his agent played with him and he has to deal with the incompetent Woodward.
He had to replace the best manager ever, but he was also recommended by the best manager ever, so that should be respected.

Re: Moyes Watch
We had a lot of injuries in that game. No Van Nistelrooy and Saha...Keano in defence.
Fergie did have some questionable line-ups but in the end he won trophies. It's just the way it is. If Bentiez was dropping Mata, he would've been slaughtered, but with Mourinho Chelsea fans we'll be upset about it but they'll let it go.

Using the club's league position as the basis for determining a manager's abilities is flawed logic. Newcastle finished above Everton last season.. clearly Pardew is a better than Moyes going by this trend.
Same thing is applicable to Arsenal. They have an experienced manager who is well-versed with the club's happenings and this helps the club to finish in top 4 every season constantly. When the manager is acquainted with his club, results are obviously going to be better and consistent.
A better position to judge Moyes and Rodgers will be when the latter has been at the club for 3-4 years.
I agree with this, but for now he shouldn't even be compared to Moyes.
Moyes took a team about to be relegated to a consistent top 6 team and in to Europe a few times.
Rodgers is a rookie as of right now and hasn't achieved anything substantial.
At least Di Matteo has won trophies, to put Rodgers in the same breath as Moyes is ridiculous.
Same idiots who say Martinez is better than Moyes.... why? because he plays good football? so what?
I agree with the majority of Gil's list but Moyes is miles above the likes of Di Matteo, Rodgers etc etc right now, they could surpass him one day but as of right now they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence.
looolGreat Leader Sprucenuce wrote:If anything its the opposite and he would shine at a big club.... he always looks to win games and has beaten various big teams this season or got good results.
Everton players have said repeatedly how he gives them confidence that they can beat the very best..... this isn't anything like Moyes.
Don't see the relation to Moyes what so ever lol.
P.S. Why is this moved to Man Utd section?
