if Higuain is worth 40m, then an offer of 90m will open negotiations for Arturo

since when was there ever a deal on the table for vidal?

the collective juve butthurt at not getting higuain is baffling.

2. €30 million is around £25.7 million, a price I believe we matched.......then Flo raised the price to £30 million (€35 million)

It's not a goal.com exclusive. They pulled the quotes off an interview he did with Telecinco (and probably used some creative translation).

The report says 30 million is less than what he's looking for.

Anything over 15mil is too much for Higuain

a lot of people are going to be in for a surprise next season

By the way, I thought you blacklisted me after I explained that you are in fact not a super-football-agent sitting in on all the deals for Real Madrid, PSG and several other teams?

You know... the proof is in the pudding. We'll see how well Higuain does at Napoli compared to Cavani. It's the perfect comparative season tbh unless Napoli go out and buy another big time player. But if things stay as they are after Higuain goes there, we'll know at the end of this coming season how Higuain compares.

What? Sports, Llorente has been carrying Athletic's attack since 2008. What do you think the Caparros system was? Hoof it to Llorente & he'll produce goals out of it. Athletic within the last 5 years possessed to much creativity & not enough goal-scorers, which is why it was built around having Llorente carry the attack. And he literally DID carry the attack not just in profligacy, yet the sheer timing of his goals which had him revered more clutch than prolific. He isn't a Soldado or Falcao who relies heavily on service. Though his finishing is dire.

Even his first year under Bielsa when the midfield sometimes would be overran, Llorente produced goals out of nothing to save their ass for the umpteenth time. There's a reason why he is a legend there. Numbers don't prove his legacy there. Goes beyond.

& Sports; you have stated Higuain is the closest to Napoli and/or will be completed yet I'm still not willing to buy it, as all the sources linking his transfer are very unreliable.

Come on Arqi. Llorente is decent. He had one good year. Other than that one year, he's been atrociously inefficient. Here are his efficiency stats for last 4 years (Europe and La Liga only because i can't find shots for CDR):

2012-2013 5 goals on 48 shots = 10.4%
2011-2012 24 goals on 112 shots = 21.4% (his good year)
2010-2011 18 goals on 122 shots = 14.8%
2009-2010 13 goals on 106 shots = 12.3%

For La Liga especially, that's horrible other than the one year. CR7 was better in efficiency and he shoots everywhere from 40 meters in.

Not saying he's a bad player... just saying he will need to finish like his one career year to be worthy of Juve.

Mate I told you, numbers would provide massive injustice to his career. I already stated above that his biggest weakness; his finishing is the sole reason that hindered him from being a Top CF.

With the system Capparros it was a arbitrary system to under-utilize his talents under Bielsa played him in a False 9. Using shots/goals ratio is near obsolete given his play style. He isn't just a targetman but contributes heavily in build-up play and creation. Efficiency stats like these must only be used for guys like Soldado or Falcao.

Plus he shoots outside of the box many many times.


You also didn't count all competitions.

09-10 was 23 goals
10-11 was 19
11-12 was 29. 33 if you count 4 wrongly offside goals called.
12-13 cannot even be tabled. That wouldn't make sense given what happened that season.

His goals are revered not for his profligacy but for being scored at the best timing in its clutch form.

Argentina Senior Team hasn't won something significant since Copa America 1993 and the Confed Cup in 1992. Their issues of not winning stem beyond picking Higuain over Aguero. As for the latter, Aguero is clearly more skillful but Higuain is a better mesh for the team. Thought that would have been more obvious...

the only comp missing, as i mentioned, was CDR since i could only get goals and not shots.  Can't extrapolate efficiency without shots.  For some reason, my 5 year period didn't modify in when i saved. Here are the corrected stats.  Again, no CDR since i can't get shots.

They have been failing way beyond Higuain came into picture and I'm pretty certain it is not due to "players like Higuain". Well, not failing, just heavy underachieving.

Either i'm seeing Serie A and other teams' fans underrate him or Madrid fans totally overrate the shit out of him.Absolutely no middle ground here at all.

I understand as I don't criticize you for leaving competitions out. Yet I've mentioned Llorente isn't rated for his efficiency, yet for an amalgamation of attributes to which brought the people to rate him, rate him in the first place. He never was a natural finisher and doesn't even have natural goal instincts in the box. Before 2007 he played primarily behind the striker and out wide at most times.

Aside from that, most of his apps named were from the bench or coming back from his long injuries and not acquiring many chances in European stages in the first place as such was Athletic's fortune, mid 2000s.
