Melo deadline 24 hours away
Turkish giants Galatasaray have just over 24 hours to complete the signing of Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo.
The Brazilian international has spent the last two campaigns on loan at Galatasaray, a club who have the right to sign him outright for €6.5m.
However, that option is only valid until April 30 and whispers in Turkey suggest that the outfit will allow that deadline to pass.
The 29-year-old was netted by the Turin giants in July 2009 from Fiorentina for a fee in the region of €25m.
If Galatasaray don’t do a deal then Melo will return to Turin where he will presumably be placed on the transfer list.

If his wage isn't much (I can't remember) just keep him as depth.
He spent 2 years at Gala, and he's not very young, he can be bench material for a top club or play for an Ok but not a top club.

Re: Melo deadline 24 hours away
i liked him in his second season here...but that's it.
i think both for him and Juve..it's best for him to go.
i'd use him as bargaining chip...

Exactly. He would have one of the top salaries on the club if he were to join next season. He needs to go.

That's unacceptable, pay cut or go.
Can't deny having a Vice Pirlo, Melo and Pogba as our 2nd choice Midfield 3 wouldn't be fantastic.
I'd use that midfield happily whilst resting for a CL match.

Whatever decision is made we must not give Galatasaray a discount on Melo! Pay up the agreed amount or F*ck off! They been extending his loan for 2 seasons and I would rather we sell him cheaper to someone else then give them a discount...especially when you consider he is the heart of that team!

Keep him as back up.He can rest other players when we play CL.
Anyone knows how much money we got from his loan time to Gala?

How do you think the other players will react to our backup being one of the highest paid players on the team? If it were me, I would be asking for a raise and I imagine some players will do just that.

Well we can reduce his wages,if he doesn'j accept then put him on transfer, that's easy.Juventude wrote:juvealbanian wrote:Keep him as back up.He can rest other players when we play CL.

Then what? Why would any team pay much for Melo when he is in the last year of his contract? He will either be sold at a cut rate, like Amauri, or he will sit on our squad earning 2.9 million, just like Iaquinta the last few years.
He definitely isn't going to take a pay cut. Who would anyone take a pay cut in the last year of their contract? The last year that he could possibly make that much money again in his life? The pay cut won't happen. We may as well sell him to Galatasaray at a discount or start looking for a prospective buyer sooner because every day we wait his value goes down.

That's why Melo is on the Transfer list, Conte loves what Melo brings to the field and his warrior spirit but he refused to lower his wage that's why Juve is trying to sell him

I'd take 4.5 million. We won't get much more for him. Remember he is in the last year of his contract and turns 30 this summer. I would take any amount that is greater than his salary for next season.

i agree..without his salary(2.6m/year*) plus the 4.5m means 7 million cleared
plus getting rid of Iaquinta also frees funds for Pogba contract extension
