Re: End of an Era, so lets reform!
Exactly, I understand the Barca players are tailor made to play the way they do and can't really adapt.
They have had resounding success with plan 'A' but the fact is plan 'A' won't always work and the more they use it, the more other teams will adapt.
If you don't have the players to adapt then you're tactically inflexible and you can either sign players who are more comfortable with a more direct plan 'B' or just hope that on the night your original plan is good enough.

Yeah, he played though and it was The worst game of his career. And no, some players have played quite well despite not being fully fit.

If he was so injured that he couldn't bother pressing a player on the ball 5 yards away then he shouldn't have played. Frankly it was an insult to the players who would have actually put in a better effort.
Cesc and Villa were completely ignored because it's Messi who chooses the team sheet apparently. Villa coming on after the score is 4-0? Really?

I agree, having an injury is a bad excuse. Everybody gets Injuries. If Messi was so amazingly unfit then he shouldn't have seen the pitch. Bad decision is bad.
Of course, I feel people are just overstating the severity of Messi's injury to make it seem like had he been ' fully fit' he could have done much better and could have taken the game to Bayern.

It was Tito who started a barely fit Messi for such a monumental match. If any blame is to be given, it should be to Tito. He picks the side, not Messi.

Why come up with solutions when you can just mock Barca and have the time of your lives.
Be the better men here and enjoy Barca’s demise instead of trying to to save them

And I wanted him off the pitch once it became clear he was not able to contribute, unfortunately Tito didn't have the balls for it. Not saying it wasn't a bad decision to play him or to keep him on the pitch.Zealous wrote:If he was so injured that he couldn't bother pressing a player on the ball 5 yards away then he shouldn't have played. Think Messi coming on as a sub would have been a much better option. Similar to what was done against PSG.

Off topic here, but I wouldn't say they squeezed passed Milan. It was fairly comfortable in the end

Milan allowed it to be comfortable in the second leg.

Bayern were over-confident in the 2nd leg vs Arsenal and lost, it's not unlikely they'll feel as though they already won the tie against Barca as well.

again with this "when you win the opponent let you but when you loose it's just you sucking" stuff.
Milan had no option at least on this game.
Just give Barca this much credit

I agree. They beat Milan with relative ease in the 2nd leg. They deserve credit for the performance they put on.

Re: End of an Era, so lets reform!
The same for Bayern.
They beat us because they are damn awesome.
Not because we suck or anything.
At least more because of the first and less because of the latter

Re: End of an Era, so lets reform!
Most often, 4-0 or worse scores are caused by a flood effect... what i mean is that most teams just tank once it gets to be 3-0 and that allows for the scores to get out of control if the other team wishes to pour it on. Most times, teams are satisfied at 3-0 and let it go. But Bayern have been know to try and humiliate teams if possible. Nothing wrong with that btw... it's up to the other team to stop you.
To me, once you get to 3-0... it's a thrashing. Doesn't matter if the score gets worse afterwards.

Re: End of an Era, so lets reform!
it's been confirmed Messi's leg injury still wasnt 100% healed but fit enough to play is the word thats been said. Which would explain why he wasnt dropping and running around ala his usual. didn't help he had a rock of a defense on him, Bayern were amazing. Thats where Pedro and Alexis should of came in to help but were also neutralized. Messi is fine, I think it's time for Alexis to go and if Pedro stays then he can't be a starter anymore and should be replaced if thats what he thinks he should be going forward.

Barca have too many useless players. Sanchez, Pedro, Afellay, Song, Tello etc. Couple that with the fact that they have ONE out and out striker...

I'm out of here
Before u get lost...
I guess, by dropping deep, he means Rooney or Etoo (Mou-inter) esque ...
That never happens/ed with Messi.
