Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Papadopolous - I've watched him quite alot at Schalke and I have no doubt everyone would be very very satisfied if he was signed. Regardless of Price. British media seems to want to make him a nuisance, but far from it. That guy is passionate, a defensive leader and an absolute animal....and I for one would not want the latter to change.
I really haven't watched the team since January, and since significant changes were made, and guys like Coutinhio and Sturridge have become important pieces of the team, it's difficult to suggest anything.
I think Aspas was a very good signing and I have faith in Borini to be like a new signing next year.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
We don't play with wingers. We play with inside forwards.
I'm not too sure who Mkhitaryan is but the 22m valuation does seem a little steep.
To be honest, I'm great we've been linked to the likes of Mkhitaryan, Eriksen, Papa etc.
Young players, that have played in the CL, have the mental understanding of playing at a big club and are a grade better than the likes of Henderson or Allen etc. (No disrespect to them, I'm one of Hendo's biggest fans...) They also have that much needed character we lost with the likes of Alonso, Mascherano, Torres etc leaving. The players we've been linked to are ready for first team football - and will improve in the future. They don't need the patience that the likes of Henderson, Allen and Borini need(ed). So I'm a bit happy we're trying to further the improvements from January.
We've also been linked to Mignolet. I rate him highly. I feel he'll be a top grade keeper in the future. I find him a lot more consistent than Begovic imo.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
West Ham had an inquiry/bid (depending on who you listen to) for Negredo turned down. They're already looking for alternatives to Carroll. I like the lad alright and wasn't even upset with him when he wanted to stay to prove himself, but if he causes the deal to fall through because he's suddenly decided he deserves £100k a week I will be rather pissed with him.

From what I've heard, Carroll wants to talk to Liverpool first to see if he has a future with Rodgers in charge before making a decision.

Carroll has already held talks with Liverpool and been told that the club has no plans for his future at Anfield.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Then I'm not too sure. Thought he was waiting to speak to Rodgers.
He'd be stupid to stay, honestly.
He will hardly play here, and if he does, he wouldn't suit this system. With the World Cup coming at the end of the season, he's going to need games to prove himself to get the call. He won't get it at Liverpool.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
He's probably hoping that West Ham will negotiate and meet him somewhere between his current wages and the new demand, which is still greedy as he's getting a fairly hefty wage at the moment (80k or so). He probably also expects that if the West Ham deal falls through LFC will accept Newcastle's bid (which is 10m compared to West Ham's 15m) and he can rejoin them. If he ends up costing us a significant amount (and 5m is significant to me) I will be rather dissatisfied.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
We won't accept Newcastle's bid.
If what you're saying is true, we should tell him straight up. Go to West Ham or rot in the reserves (with his WC dreams being demolished).

Iago Aspas is another really talented player imo. He's a Bellamy type player only much healthier, and much better than Defoe. His finishing and technical ability is much superior and he would come for dirt cheap.
Btw I felt like I didn't get enough recognition for this. Go ahead lads, shower me with praise.

Arq
You tried to sell him to Spurs before Liverpool. You deserve no praise.

Liverpool FC ponder Henrikh Mkhitaryan move
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fc-ponder-henrikh-mkhitaryan-4051190?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
The article suggests that the move depends on Suarez deal.
Plus Aspas & Papa are the priorty targets for now.
James Pearce is on of the most reliable of LFC journalists.

I like Patrick Herrmann a lot, and I brought him a bunch of pages back. He seems like another German talent that's breaking through.

Wouldn't mind looking at Vela to be honest. Would suit Rodgers system on the right hand side of the front three, and cutting in. He's scored 26 goals in 70 appearances or so for R. Soc. which isn't so bad. He also fits into the 5 foot (X) height that we seem to be signing. (Well, taking out the signing of Sturridge.)
