PL relegation thread
Sunderland: Villa away, Stoke Home, Southampton Home and Spurs away
Stoke: Norwich home, Sunderland away, Spurs home and Southampton away
Newcastle: Liverpool home, West Ham away, QPR away and Arsenal home
Villa: Man Utd away, Sunderland home, Norwich away, Chelsea home and Wigan away
Wigan: Spurs home, West Brom away, Swansea home, Arsenal away and Villa home
Discuss personally think Wigan will join QPR and Reading in the championship next season.
Also props to Pardew, taken a top from the top 5 to the bottom 5 in one season

Re: PL relegation thread
Watched West Ham v Wigan today and Wigan dominated in the second half. If they can play like that and pick some points from their next four games then Wigan v Aston Villa on the final day of the season could be a relegation-decider. But they've got some tricky fixtures left, so they're my favorites to go down now.

Re: PL relegation thread
It's between Villa and Wigan, who will ultimately play each other in the last game of the season.
The rest will do enough to secure their place in the top flight.
Looking at both their fixtures, i think this could be the season that finally breaks Wigan's great escape routine.

I don't think so but i would be indenial if i said we are not involved.
Do think we will do enough but still even just doing enough is a disgrace with the players we have hopefully big changes are made.

How about the teams who are 19th and 20th? Is their relegation confirmed?

Re: PL relegation thread
Would switch Stoke and Wigan anyday if I could .
Hope Wigan stays up . If they do , this will be 3 seasons in a row where they've had great escapes . It is more than possible to me that Wigan will stay up, they've been worse off in the last 2 seasons of the PL and still managed to escape relegation .
But that being said and viewing their last 5 fixtures, they have one of the most difficult last 5 fixtures along with Villa/Newcastle and 4 out of 5 of those teams are top table teams . Might be the greatest escape out of all of 'em if they do survive .
But imagine when/if QPR and Wigan are relegated . Dem Firesales . Jordi Gomez , Beausejour , Maloney , McCarthy , Martinez .

Nope but its just a matter of time....
The most amount of points they can get even if they win every game is 36 and there's no way that is going to be enough.
They are gone.

Would like to hear QPR owner Hernandez's thoughts right now. Spending like crazy, still getting relegated. He will lose so much money in the Championship unless he let's the club go in administration.

Re: PL relegation thread
Reading n QPR are certain
It's between Wigan and Aston Villa for the final spot. I think this is Wigan's year to go down.
Villa: Man Utd away, Sunderland home, Norwich away, Chelsea home and Wigan away
Wigan: Spurs home, West Brom away, Swansea home, Arsenal away and Villa home
Think they both have fairly similar fixtures.
The final game of the season. Wigan Vs Villa lol

What the hell happened to Newcastle?

Pardew happened.... he is clueless in so many ways.
We have had lots if injuries etc etc but the main problem is Pardew's coaching and tactics are inept.
We would be fine if we had a competent manager.
I would rant about it but i would be here all day lol.
Actually i will explain it a bit f*ck it.....
- Our corners and set pieces are s***. Yet we still persist with the same technique
- He's openly stated that the foundation of our pre-match prep is to nullify the opposition. However we're filled with players that want to attack. Play to your strengths?
- This is also blindingly obvious when we go forward. One player has the ball while all others stand their with their thumb up their arse looking utterly clueless about where to run and what support to offer
- He has this awful love for players that can "graft" for 90 minutes. Jonas might be able to run for 90 minutes, Perch might be able to "get a tackle in" but your left winger and your centre mid should be looking to supply the forward line. So f***ing negative.
- His handling of injuries is atrocious. Ultimately the buck stops with him as to whether or not a player plays. Too many times we've rushed players back from injury this season. Yet he tries to wrangle this into an excuse
the biggest one of all:
He spoke about being hopeful of Marveaux of Ben Arfa "coming up with a bit of magic". For f***s sake man, what? Telling someone in Row A that they were thinking of the 9 of spades?! "Magic" ffs. In other words "I hope we keep it to a tight 0-0 and one of the two attacking players I'm allowing on the pitch pulls something out of their arse"

Can see a PL team going for him.
If a manager can get his head in the game, he'll be quite the player. 'Arry isn't a man manager type (unless you're British...) and Hughes is just horrid.

Pardew wasn't good enough. Not this year nor last year. And he was just given a 8 year deal contract at the start of this season, wasn't he? There's no way he's getting sacked unless a team buys out his contract. Which won't happen. Ashley dug his own hole.

We all should look at this as an intriguing experiment on whether managerial stability is the way to go even when the manager isn't very good
