Re: Aussie Transfers Thread
Culina transfers to Sydney FC. What a signing!
No excuses now... Seriously that last game just wasn't good enough, and this squad is one of the best, if not the best.

Sydney are on a roll and hopefully after a few games they can gain the momenteum they need!

Re: Aussie Transfers Thread
IMO Culina is the best passer Australia has had. At least in my time.
He's also played with top players at PSV so he should play well with ADP and they should have an understanding on a different level. He might be coming back from injury etc, but still... exactly the player we needed.
Funnily enough, he's exactly what the Socceroos miss as well.

Re: Aussie Transfers Thread
Good for Sydney.
As for the Socceroos, bringing back another veteran isn't going to fix anything. Not because he's a veteran, but the issue is beyond the impact that one player can make. Culina might help, I admit. However, there are widespread issues in the team. I have been saying this for ages now, but our defence is far too slow and prone to making mistakes. Time to get some new guys in. Not only that, our midfield is static and content to pass the ball around sideways for a while instead of really challenging other teams, especially teams that we should easily be beating. We try to either run the wings and put crosses in or we end up playing hoofball. This is like a pre-Guus Hiddink throwback. What are we? England? I think our tactics, formation and personnel all need modification. The only part of the team I am happy with is the forward-line - arguably the most talented list of forwards in recent times. Yet, we seem to have trouble scoring against Z-grade teams. And what the hell is Archie Thompson still doing in our NT set-up when we have Kennedy, Cahill, Holman, Rukavytsya, Kruse and Brosque??
ugh
