Re: Malaga vs BVB
Isco ghosted. I strongly disagree mole as he was at the heart of Malaga's best plays. Dortmund has an argument of being the superior team today but by no means controlled the game.

You should stay away from the chat mate, you can concentrate on the game more then
As far as build up play and control goes Dortmund couldn't have done much more.
Their finishing let them down today but lets be honest everything was done at their pace and under their control.
You don't need the ball 70% to do this and Dortmund showed that.

Even? really ?
If it wasn't for Dortmund's shat finishing and Cabellero in goal this tie would already be over.
Oh i forgot possession = control
Who said anything about the possession ?
Malaga could have scored 3 times as well

Malaga to qualify with a 1-1.
Barcelona to beat PSG comfortably at Camp Nou.
Real Madrid already qualified.
3 Spanish teams in the semi final.

That cheeky comment
I'm not talking about possession, I'm talking about reciprocation of play between both in where both sides were excellent which is what produced the fantastic game that it was. Yes Dortmund had the more clear cut chances yet Malaga produced some fantastic play and troubled Dortmund greatly out wide. I can understand your argument on how Dortmund was superior but they by no means controlled the game.

That's the only thing that you could imply in their favour as far as control.

Re: Malaga vs BVB
This is a poor result from Dortmund's POV. They've only got to blame themselves for poor finishing... if played against a stronger opposition this game would be done already.
However Dortmund have home advantage next week and Bender, Hummels and Kuba will all be fully fit for this game while Malaga will miss Welligton and Iturra (?). Hope Dortmund edges it in the end.

Btw Toulalan was MOTM for me, showed exceptional defending skills and distribution - great game by him. Heard he also has had a good season aswell... might be worth a France comeback?

In full agreement although they still should finish it off.... key word being should there if they finish like that again they are liable to a f*ck up.

he's been at his best since he arrived to Malaga, I think it would be a worthy gamble. The question is, will Toulalan still play intl football?urbaNRoots wrote:Btw Toulalan was MOTM for me, showed exceptional defending skills and distribution - great game by him. Toulalan was great and has been for a while, don't think France are lacking in DMs though.

While Isco wasn't the sharpest player out there I thought he was more effective than Gotze and Reus.

Re: Malaga vs BVB
I wouldn't say any of them flopped anyway....
Isco, Gotze and Reus deserve the hype they get aswell, they have shown it at the top level for a while now.
I agree with the notion, people tend to overhype and overrate kids but with these 3 i think the hype is fair.
At international and CL level they perform, its not like any of them performed badly today anyway.
Gotze and Reus played well outside their finishing, Isco played well even if he wasn't particularly threatening but playmaking wise was good.
You would

I thought the same thing.. That pass to Saviola in the first half was more impressive than anything Götze did throughout the game..

I thought Isco dribbled better and won a couple of good fouls, also most if not all of his forward passes were effective, cannot say the same for gotze

Re: Malaga vs BVB
Meh.
90 minutes of my life I'm not getting back. Was forced to watch the worst Dortmund I've seen all season.
Everything good about Dortmund was lacking today. They didn't win nearly as much 1on1s as they usually do, same for tackles. They ran far too little, the forwards didn't move all that much, and often a midfield player dribbled for a bit, looked up, and saw he had nobody to pass to.
Which brings me to my main point: Dortmunds passing was as bad, as I've never seen it. They gave away possession for no reason so often, it was incredibly infuriating.
Lewandowksis finishing is always shitty as it was today, so I won't dwell on it. He had a decent game by his standards, made a couple good tackles and generally held the ball up well.
Reus was the one who truly went missing. Only one shot of his, and that was straight at the keeper. Looked like he left his footballing brain at home: no decent runs, didn't create space or chances, and played woefully bad passes.
Götze overall played good, but his finishing was Lewandowski-level bad. Atrocious. He is actually usually good in 1on1s, especially if he only needs to beat the keeper. I've seen him put away much much worse chances than he wasted today many times. Don't know what happened to him.
Not scoring an away goal was bad, but who cares, I expect Dortmund to win at home. Especially since they will never play this badly again this season. They were sooooo horrible.
And Schmelzer! Flasche leer! He got beaten by runs from the wingers and fullbacks so often, it actually hurt my eyes to look at that part of the pitch. The only defender that didn't piss me off incredibly was Santana, and even he had a couple dodgy moments. And that corner where Weidenfeller had to make his great save! WTF!
Zero Dortmund players jumped to get that header. Lazy f*ckers.
I'm incredibly annoyed I wasted all my evening on this shit match. Dortmund better deliver in the return leg, or I will choke a bitch.

Re: Malaga vs BVB
Felt it was quite a boring game. Couple nice peices of play from Dortmund but not much else.
Couple big chances missed, especially that Lewadowski one...if this is a decent game for him, hes even worse than I imagined.
Malaga could probably get a 1-1 or something and get through without looking the better side on even terms...sort of like last tie.
The entire time watching this game I felt, why would they put this crap and Madrid on the same day forcing us to watch crap while yesturday the two best ties were on.

Re: Malaga vs BVB
Lewandowski is a good player, he just has horrible finishing. If you're Dortmund (or Bayern) that's okay, if you actually need your CF to put all the chances away he gets, he is horrible. But at Dortmund, everyone scores, and during the course of a game, there will usually be a pass so perfect even Lewandowski will score.
But I seldom see a player miss more sitters than he does, so yes, this was a decent game for him. Reus and Götze were horrible by their standards, but Lewandowski played pretty much like he always does.
Dortmund sure do miss Blasczy...kowski... Blaszcyko... Blazsc.. Blasch... Kuba was missing, and he'll inject another dimension to the Dortmund attack once he's back. Malaga will get creamed in Dortmund when Hummels and Kuba are back.

I hate strikers who cant finish as much as I hate defenders who cant defend..I got no time for either, call it a pet peeve of mine.

None of the manager went with an attacking gameplan, at this stage its understandable. You want to play it cohesive and simple.

Re: Malaga vs BVB
I think it's a good result for Malaga and it was an OK game. Watched it when I got home.
BVB couldn't finish though and I expect them to dismantle Malaga at home when they'll finish their chances. They could have won 3-0 tonight easily and Malaga never really threatened that much. I just don't think Malaga have the quality.
