FIFA 2012 accounts: revenue $1.166bn (2011 $1.077bn), expenses $1.077bn (2011 $1.034bn), surplus $89m (2011 $36m).

FIFA 2012 accounts: reserves up to $1.378bn. Described as necessary as “virtually impossible to find cancellation insurance for World Cup”.

FIFA 2012 accounts: main revenue elements are TV rights $566m (2011 $550m) and marketing rights $370m (2011 $381m).

So FIFA once again spent more on itself (operating expenses $188m + governance $53m = $241m) than development $177m.

FIFA 2012 accounts: governance included $32m on committees & congress (i.e. meetings) plus $21m on legal matters.

FIFA 2012 a/c: personnel costs up from $89m to $91m (key management up from $29.5m to $33.5m), while development down from $183m to $177m.
