Would be hilarious to see Italy miss out on the World cup again.

If Italy miss out on the playoffs, i'd consider it a bigger upset than when Ventura missed out on it.

To go from Euro winners - taking into consideration the quality of the current squad and player at hand - to no WC is sackworthy IMO

It just shows the quality in Europe has improved. Spain could have just as easily been in the qualifiers along with Italy and Portugal. And the playoffs are much more competitive than before with just 3 teams out of 12 making it.

Argentina qualifies, being unbeaten 27 games, or 2 and half years.

Trust Italia to take it to the wire as per usual as they never make anything really easy for themselves as their post Euro hangover has been very apparent and the lack of goalscorer up front is so glaring it is bound to cost them.


Lets see if this sluggish Italia even go through Goran Pandev's Northern Macedonia but if or when they face Portugal I cannot for the life of me see Cristiano settle fo anything less than smashing them given it'll be his final world cup as either one going out will be a huge tragedy.
