Vidal committed to Juventus
Arturo Vidal has silenced talk that he may be sacrificed on the transfer market by Juventus in the summer. “I want to stay.”
The transfer rumour mill is suggesting that Bayern Munich are ready to offer big money for the player who cost Juve around €11m less than two years ago.
However, in an interview with the Corriere della Sera, the Chilean international committed himself to the Old Lady.
“This is the strongest side in Italy. I’m here and I want to stay for some time so that I can continue winning in this shirt,” he noted.
Vidal was netted from Bayer Leverkusen and he’s developed into a key figure for boss Antonio Conte.
“The Coach has helped me a lot. He’s always explained things to me and told me how he wanted me to play.
“I know the history of Juventus. They were the strongest side a few years ago and I knew we would be that again.
“I have some really strong teammates playing by my side and that is why we have won. There is great harmony on and off the pitch.
“Juventus have what is needed to take on anybody. We certainly have what is needed to win the Scudetto and Champions League.”
Juve’s title credentials will be tested on Friday night when they travel to second-placed Napoli.
“It will be an open game, intense I imagine, a battle from the start,” Vidal continued. “As always, we’ll face them as Juve.
“Napoli are strong, they play good football, they have dangerous players – above all Edinson Cavani and Marek Hamsik – who know how to score.
“Will it decide the title? There will still be 11 games and 33 points on offer after it. That’s too many.”
