the negative connotation people attach to players when they get a salary upgrade is hilarious.

they are professionals, it's a job, the better paid you are, the happier you get. Dont even pretend that if you get called up by your boss and get a massive salary upgrade you wont wet your pants, or if you get an offer from a different company that wants to double your wages.

people like to stay in the confines of their little life and hate on people printing green, the name of the game is also to make money. virtually NO great player out there reaching his prime will pay for little cash just for the "love" of the club, that's BS.

there you have rooney that robbed man utd at gunpoint for money. Now he can say he will stay there forever, upgrade his hair and all, he is already top earner.

Man city is providing an opportunity for players to make an excellent living and to compete for trophies, that's just the way the market is.
