Pellegrini to Man City - Official
Manuel Pellegrini has reached a verbal agreement to take charge of Manchester City next season, according to Chilean TV channel 24 Horas.
The Chilean tactician is reported to have been approached by Manchester City directors and has met with them to find a verbal agreement to land at the Etihad Stadium for 2013/14.
Pellegrini is currently in charge of La Liga club Malaga, where he has worked wonders despite the club being beset by financial issues which have forced the sale of key players, with Santi Cazorla departing last summer and Nacho Monreal just last month.
The former Real Madrid boss has long been tempted to coach in England and it seems he could be soon set to get his wish.
Pellegrini will continue to focus on Malaga, but Chilean sources believe he is sure to succeed Roberto Mancini at the reigning Premier League champions.
Mancini has come under pressure at Manchester City this season, with the Citizens slipping well behind Manchester United in the Premier League.
The Citizens also crashed out of the Champions League in the group stage, in their second successive season of European disappointment.
Pellegrini will not be daunted by the task at hand, having bossed Real Madrid.

He'd probably do very well with amount of talent at his disposal as well as the cash.

Malaga have probably the best defensive record in La Liga so that's a bit of a myth.
Anyway Pellegrini is an amazing coach and that is what City needs right now, a coach someone who understands what needs to be done tactically domestically and in the CL.
He will make them much much better if it happens and Silva under Pelle

Make it happen. I'm tired of Yanited winning the league. Until Pool get back to the top, Pellegrini can dominate. By the time we reach the summit, he'll be old Masterplan.

Re: Pellegrini to Man City - Official
It would be somewhat of a coup if Man.City recruit Pellegrini, Obviously the board has given up on Mancini altogether......
Which leads me to think.....why arent Arsenal trying to make him sign instead?

Re: Pellegrini to Man City - Official
The team environment he has created at Malaga will not be easily replicated at a club like City. It's not about the players or the big names, it's the management and their scouting team, they make changes for the sake of making changes - which will be a problem for him.
I want him to remain at Malaga anyway.

Pellegrini is a good manager but no way he'll guarantee City anything. They could win the league sure but United would still kind of be favourites.

If he did leave though, I'm sure it'd have to do with Malaga not playing in Europe. Although he has said before he doesnt want to leave, so...

Pellegrini's agent:
"Chelsea and other clubs have asked about him, but only through intermediaries", Pellegrini’s agent Jesus Martinez told Chilean daily El Mercurio.
"Manuel would love to coach a team in the Premier League, but also in Germany, Italy and other major leagues which are interesting."
"Manuel has a contract with Malaga. In April or May, I think we will know what offers he has for the future."
