As i said in chat most of CBs in PL have been crap this season....

I can't really name any of them because none are deserving of recommendation.

Also the Varane hype is already getting out of hand reminds me of the Wilshere hype after his Barca performance.

You can't compare a kid to established CBs like Pique, Hummels, Chiellini etc etc you just can't.

Shawcross, Jagielka, Skrtel or Cahill

Agger, Chiellini, Hummels, Varane, Thiago Silva

top 5 leagues

Ill just pick the best from every league (imo)

EPL-Kompany
La Liga- Pique (laugh all you want)
Serie A- Chiellini (many people will say Barzegli, but I think Chiellini is better technically and in aerial battles)
Ligue 1- TS
Bundesliga-Hummels and Dante are equally as good, Hummels is better technically but Dante is less mistake prone

Im glad Pique is getting his due, he is certainly back this season.

Juve struggle badly without Chiellini. Much better on the ball than Barzagli IMO.

Agree with this especially Pique and Chiellini who has been dearly missed by Juve practically all the goals they have conceded in recent weeks has come through the area he would usually lock down.

btw, this thread was a good idea. Separating CBs by league makes better conversation than having one big CB scwanzvergliech.

This season probably as i said the defending in PL has been disgusting this season.

EPL- Nemaja Vidic. Kompany? LOL. The guy shivers in the knees when against a tricky opponents with a bag of guile, craft and art. Vidic tends to struggle against the same at times yet has proven and performed far better than Kompany. So then, I'd actually go for a more controversial opinion, forget lunk head Vidic:

I was of course kidding with the Varane part

In La Liga for me from what I've seen this season, it's between Pique and Demichelis. If I had to choose it would be Pique.

Question: Where is the Kos love gone from arsenal fans. A while back he was the god CB?
