History might be made in a while
2nd leg of first round WCQ in the AFC, Philippines vs. Sri Lanka. We drew the first leg away 1-1.
Even getting past this round will be a big accomplishment so.... LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
(And yes do get through so there will be a 2nd leg vs. Kuwait, so I can watch that live since it's my sister's birthday today so I'm stuck at home)

Re: History might be made in a while
your country should stop playing cricket and start playing football. then south asian countries could become a force in football. cricket is so terrible.

Twice chuffed by the Sri Lankan defense in the first 90 seconds. Rocket of a start so far.
Of course, rain just started pouring in now...

Lol, we're up against Kuwait next... excited to watch the match but I wonder how the odds are now
Oh and FT: Philippines 4-0 Sri Lanka, 5-1 on aggregate. First time in history this has happened. Kuwait up next.

Re: History might be made in a while
4 - 0 lmao!
It's good to finally get this far. I doubt we will qualify but atleast the improvement was immense.
Like i said, a team only needs support to show what it can do. Unfortunately our Media or our Government even only supports people who they suddenly think can help them with TV ratings/Election campaigns. Same happened with Pacquiao and look where he is now. Good thing Philippine NT luckily went far in the suzuki cup lmao.
But i'm happy that football is now on the map here on my country. Next thing to do is to replace the corrupt PFF then start a domestic league.

Re: History might be made in a while
Ah so its a historic day indeed Sri Lanka football is being discussed on the forums lol... we suck at football mate... there is a league but I doubt anyone other than the players families and close friends watch it.
BTW in favour of SL, we have Sri Lankan players whereas you guys have so many players from overseas...
