How do you know this? His agent also represent Abbiati, who could have been there to extend the contract of Abbiati. I'd love Santon, but not at the cost of De Sciglio. If we sign him for the left that's fine, but not the right.

Unlike those 2, Santon is also very capable at LB.

He was one of their best players in the second half of last season, the whole team is struggling and is in bad form right now, so we cannot just slate him like that. And I heard that we'll look at Santon only if Abate will be sold.

Basically he's mentally and physically spent through playing practically every single minute in League, Europe and cups through us having no alternative.

He was fantastic between August and December but last month the amount of minutes with out any rest has caught up on him.

Especially with the no christmas break in England so he practically played 4 games in 10 days with no break what so ever.

Anyway there's no chance of this happening....

1. You can't afford him

2. He wouldn't leave at the moment unless we were relegated, he has said so himself he is very happy and is with a chick from Newcastle who is currently pregnant with Santon's child.

But don't base Santon and his performances in last month or so and besides our back 4 is terribad.... hopefully the inclusion of Debuchy, Taylor and Cabaye back from injury and maybe a new CB will help him.

Mole if you guys do sell him, which is unlikely, how much do you think he would go for?

No point pre guessing Ashley but considering we rejected offers of 15m for Tiote in the summer ( Laughing ) 20m for Cabaye and 25m for Ben Arfa in the summer he would be quite a lot.

We don't sell cheap, well as long as the player has a long term contract anyway which most of our players do.

Ba was the exception the the norm because he had a release clause otherwise there's no way in hell he would have gone for that cheap.

Thanks for the info Mole Thumbs up
I haven't been able to watch a lot of Newcastle this season, the only match I watched was against West Ham, and I was like WTF? It was so different from the team last season, which was playing a very good brand of football at a high tempo. The link up play, and the solid combo of Jonas and Santon on the left was really good to watch.

OT, There haven't been any concrete sources reporting this transfer as of yet.

The only place i have seen it reported is Tuttosport Laughing

I doubt you are even that interested anyway and yeah the style of football this season is a main reason why we are struggling so much.

Anyway glad i can be of good use Laughing

I actually like the idea of Zaccardo being swapped with Mesbah. First, Zaccardo would be coming to be a back up for De Sciglio (if the deal happens it means Abate would be gone). Second, Zaccardo is versatile, he can play right back or center back. Third, he is a lot more defensively sound than Antonini, and dare I say Abate. Fourth, he would accept a bench role. I'm not saying Zaccardo is a world class defender by any means, he is just a solid defender to have if someone gets hurt.

Post by Guest Wed Jan 09, 2013 12:01 am

hey mole, read ur post, thanks for enlightening bit about santon situation. i read this rumour that santon is our objective too, but i mean this is all made up out of thin air i m sure.

though, sometimes because of this, galliani has habit of reading papers and actually go for players in the papers... this happened with aquilani.

but its not as if santon is unwanted at newcastle, so like u said mate, they are not gonna sell, or they are not gonna sell cheap..

i dont think there should be a reason to sell abate anyway just because of de sciglio or constant,.... we need backup!!!

I must say if Abate leaves then he's an idiot, Zenit are going nowhere and Milan IMO despite the slow start have room to grow and will be back before too long and i still think will be in some kind of European competition next season.

Obviously crazier things have happened but i would be disappointed if he left.

I'm also pleased to see you are looking at young players, something that should have happened 3 or 4 years ago but better late than never.

hahaha yea man.. besides we need backup. we have nobody to cover, if indeed de sciglio would seal his place as RB starter.

besides de sciglio can play as LB. should constant be injured. so i dont think there is or should be any reason to sell abate.

lol about young players... berlusconi just said "sneijder is too old for milan... it would be humilitating if we will go for any player older than sneijder lol

i am happy though, that milan have 3 years project to focus on youth. but i am not gonna be excited just yet until that happens right to the end!! cause how many times have we seen galliani and berlusconi lying ...
