Re: Arsenal fans, show us the way
Özil has been partly initiating the attacks though, unless you mean playing him deeper? He was one of the main reasons why Madrid were superb last season. How many assists did the guy have? I personally think he's lost form, that's all.Le Samourai wrote:Ozil and Benz. I know most will disagree with the latter so it is what it is.
There are other directions you can go with Ronaldo as the attacking initiator..that within itself isn't really the point. It's a whole range of things I've been crying about for the entire year and I'm tired of repeating.
There's improvement begging to me made and issues begging to be fixed and Mourinhio seems completely blind to them.
Alonso is also a good initiator, his passing range, speed and accuracy is superb and a gem for any team trying to build up quickly.
Benzema. Is he a number 10? Number 9? I can already name players in Madrid who are better than him in both those positions. I'm still not sure what position Benzema would succeed at. His link-up play is class but that's about it really, he isn't a pure goalscorer. Unless Madrid are attacking down the middle, I think he will be left without a main purpose.
I think most of what you're annoyed with is not pure footballing matter, but Mourinho's overall philosophy. He is more of an Italian than Spanish in his tactics and the way he sees football, and with all respect to Cristiano fans, I think his attitude has always been a double-edged knife.
What's Kaká sayin'?

Dany you clearly haven't been watching Madrid if you think Benzema is either a 9 or a 10, when he's clearly being played as a 5

Re: Arsenal fans, show us the way
I'm not talking about where he is being played, for which I indeed only watch Madrid's highlights. However, I'm asking, what is the best position he'll flourish at? 9? 10?BarrileteCosmico wrote:Dany you clearly haven't been watching Madrid if you think Benzema is either a 9 or a 10, when he's clearly being played as a 5

Anywhere, once people pass to him.
He has issues but they can all be resolved if he gets a consistent staple of touches and if his team mates set him up in a way he could thrive instead of crossing to him.
He's a non-pure goalscorer who scored 35 last year while rotating and playing next to Ronaldo?, he will score goals if you put him in the position to do so.

playing in Serie B with point deduction and looking hopeless at draws with Napoli and Genoa in that Serie B... And your players leaving one by one from Ibra to Cannavaro... Being happiest after Italy's world cup final and than suddenly, your team is relegated. No ucl football, no title hopes, no players want to join you and everyone making fun of your club... And than comes Conte!

Re: Arsenal fans, show us the way
Benzema is a 9 who forgot your supposed to run.
All of a sudden he has become so uncomfortable when he doesnt get consistent touches of the ball, this is not right.
He can be good on the ball and all that, but he must never forget what he was supposed to be.
Going 20 minutes with a touch shouldnt be a bother to him, he should still be making the same runs he supposed to make. He shouldnt have to come looking for the ball out of impatience.
To me, a great great talent who has forgotten what he is supposed to be doing.

Pipita beats him in that though, imo. If I want a number 9 I wouldn't think twice about choosing Pipa over him.

Considering we have not won a trophy since 1969 despite several near misses and choking....
I think i'm more qualified than Arsenal fans
In fact all this bitching after 8 years with no trophy makes me lol a bit.

Short term solutions never solve long-term problems.
Mourinho has been/is/will always be a short term solution.

That's idealistic.
Teams are built around CF's...they are built for them to score. Ours is built for Ronaldo to score.
If he makes runs he gets the ball 1/10 times. Half of those times it's someone crossing to him, which within itself is pointless.
If he thought the ball was going to come to him he'd make the runs.
He should have done it with France, but it's not easy to shift out of the mold you've been playing in.

I would agree with if he didnt do it for France on a consistent basis. As I was going to say on the chat, its not all his fault I agree, but he has changed and has forgetten what he is supposed to be...his fault or not.

Your talking about the last decade? It doesnt matter, to say such a statement is ridiculous.
You should higher standards, I understand why you dont, but fact is your playing so far below whats acceptable for Madrid its untrue.
If Mourinho wasnt who he is, he would of been sacked. He is 12 points behind, same as Schuster when he got fired.

He is a Mourinhio fan.
He supports whichever club Morinhio goes to.
He has admitted to this, so it's not meant as an insult, merely a clarification.

To be fair to Ninis, I followed and supported any team that Pat Riley went to. But thats just me.

Actually, Benzema played behind Fred 50% of the time and dezoned regularly regardless. That's just how he's always played. Ibra does the same thing at PSG.... if he doesn't get the ball in the zone, he drops back to get it. Rooney is also similar. None of these guys are pure 9s who will make endless runs without the ball. They want it.
Point is that Benzema got into a major argument with Mou to start the season and decided to play the way he feels is at his best. What does that mean? 8 goals and 11 assists in about 1300 minutes... top 5 most productive in Europe.
Rooney has 8 goals and 10 assists in 1429 minutes. Ibra has 19 goals and 10 assists in 1942 minutes.
Because of his bad relationship with Mou, he will refuse to sacrifice his play at this point. So any team that wants to buy him, beware... he is a 10 or 9.5 and definitely not a 9.

Would be foolish to say Knicks since I remember very little of Pat during those times (used to watch with my father) but all in all it was Heat. When he retired? Miami lost a fan.
