Re: Oscar vs Wilshere
I dont know, because stats for a midfield are just silly. Especially when you consider one of the players has been injured for 18 months.
Comparing who "is more productive" based on stats is one of the worst way I could think of comparing these two for various reasons.

That is the thing though,Oscar has done so much in the past year while Wilshere has done close to nothingThe Franchise wrote: Especially when you consider one of the players has been injured for 18 months.

That doesnt make Oscar better, it just means Jack has been injured.

Then they shouldn't even be compared,we haven't seen enough of Jack recently,This thread should be bumped or something at the end of the season

Re: Oscar vs Wilshere
I agree.
The only thing we can go on is Jack pre injury to Oscar now.
Jack pre injury impressed me more but thats not really relevant as to who's better right now.

Re: Oscar vs Wilshere
One is a creative playmaker whilst the other is a box-to-box attacking mid. In terms of creativity, all playing, defensive playing Wilshere all over Oscar however Oscar has a better final ball, better skill and dribbling and shooter.

Re: Oscar vs Wilshere
skill? wilshere has better ball control, which I consider skill. Wilshere is better at dribbling as well, he has way more power and dynamism

Re: Oscar vs Wilshere
Oscar has been better then Wilshere in the past year....I'm guessing half of this forum forgot Wilshere has been injured for more than one and a half year. When Wilshere wasn't injured he was dominating midfields in the Premier League and the Champions League in EUROPE and not Brazil whereas goals aside Oscar has had little of the influence he had for country and club since he has come to Chelsea as even Hazard has been superior to him. Yes Oscar is only 20 and by no means is flopping yet he has done nothing to prove he is superior to Wilshere especially considering Wilshere arguably been Arsenal's best player since coming back and has shown a wider array of skill sets if you ask me.
Hands down Wilshere for me.

It's also funny considering how Gil goes on about stats and how he hates them, but when it comes to Chelsea players he uses it as a reason why they are better.

I'll say this much though, the little golden statue has surprised me so far. Hasn't been as useless as I thought he was going to be.

Re: Oscar vs Wilshere
Comparing apples and oranges in my opinion.
Wilshere is one who's fantastic at retaining the ball, he keeps it simple and has got great awareness. A gem for any possession-based team because of his composure and accurate passing.
Oscar is more versatile than Wilshere. He surpasses the Englishman in attacking positions by creating goalscoring opportunities (or scoring) while he can still play central roles at ease. Wilshere is simply a box-to-box midfielder, better at defending and someone you can rely on when under pressure.
Last but not least, Oscar needs more time to adapt to EPL while Wilshere has been playing in the same system since childhood.

Wilshere was bossed by Bigirimana and only started to effect the game in last 15 mins when he went off and our players tired.

So, because Oscar has "done so much" this year while Wilshere was out with an injury, that automatically makes him the better player?Ganso wrote:at you, what has Wheelchair done in 2012?Lex wrote:Ganso wrote:That is the thing though,Oscar has done so much in the past year while Wilshere has done close to nothing
Gareth Barry's "done so much" this year too, does that make him a better player than, say, Diaby or Hargreaves?

You said nothing of the sort UNTIL after Francs called bull, then you U turned and change your toneGanso wrote:Then they shouldn't even be compared
Your initial comment implied exactly what you wanted it to, it took someone pointing out the obvious for you to back track and re-write your story
