Villa youth is great tbf, most of their best players this season has been their youth Laughing

But they are too reliant on it atm, much like we was until January.

Villa youth team isn't particularly good, sporting today we're better. But they have a excellent attitude and that typical English grit which has become underrated since people started mocking it. They also have a couple a decent players and an outstandingly gifted youngster Jack grealish, he was mesmerising against sporting, he isn't fast but he dribbles past players soooo easily, quality first touch as well, best player I've seen in this tournament imo

Sadly we drew Sporting in the first round. And that was right after Yesil and Pelosi both tore their ACL's, Robinson was loaned out and for some odd reason Rodgers kept captain Conor Coady with first team that week.

They have a great youth side no doubt. I'd argue some of their players should be playing instead of their seniors. But they're not even in the top 3 in England let alone Europe. lol

And that means exactly zero for a club like Chelsea seeing how the club is run with their shiny multi-million pound transfers year after year.

Whats the point in bragging about having a great youth academy when you dont even use them ? Null.

Why are you looking for an argument? lol

He stated Chelsea have one of the best academy's in England. In which they do. What's that got to do with the way Roman decides to run his club?

Considering we have youth players all across Europe, we are looking to intergrate youth players in the future and some of our youth players are key players for some of the lower teams in England (WBA, Watford, Blackburn, Boro, etc.) I don't see your point. scratch

Also, Youth systems are not all about promoting every player, it's more about whats best for the player even if that means they move on. Lastly, even if they don't make it with us, as long as we sell them for more than we bought them, what does it matter?

"Even if they dont make it with us" that probably explains things because the way the team is structured at the moment(i genuinely wonder if Chelsea even need a youth academy sometimes) its difficult for even one single player to breakthrough into the first team. When you have a sugar daddy like Roman willing to open his chequebook every now and then ,then the very essence of a youth academy becomes almost redundant.I hope you get what i'm saying, dont get too sensitive cos most if not all of your youth are going to be playing elsewhere.(And that doesnt necessarily mean they're not good enough).

So in the end it probably just gives you some kind of mental satisfaction that Chelsea youth are doing well but thats about it.

There's nothing wrong with the way their academy is run though.

Just out of random curiosity, who's exactly came out of your academy and currently in your Starting XI? Bar Marchisio and Giovinco... I doubt there's many.

Quick question, of your starting XI, how many are from your youth team?
let me answer that, two and one of which you sold and then bought back! Laughing
How many do Chelsea have? 1 but if our youth keep progressing like they are, I think we could see 4-5 being in our starting XI in the future.
Seriously, Juve are not that much better. At least our youth are out there winning things. Shown by our 2 Youth FA cup wins in three years and us reaching the final of nextgen.

Aside from Barca, how many teams actually promote more than one or two youth players, not many. Thats not what a youth team is there for. Its there for the players. To give them the best environment so they can grow into the best player they can be, if that is for said club, then all the better for the club, if not, then you can be proud you've done your bit for the future of football.

Errm. This is not about comparing youth academies here(we're discussing Chelsea here !),are you seriously getting my point ? Rather you're trying to brag about how many youth trophies you've won.Again you are merely reinforcing my point ,Chelsea youth have done well on the domestic and international stage yet there could've been some productive use for the Chelsea first team but there isnt since 1.Hardly any opportunities are given 2.Roman purchases 40m,50m players at will ,even at the slightest of problems he looks towards the transfer window ,seriously with this kind of free-spending policy there isnt any real room for youth players to breakthrough. You are the Real Madrid of England essentially in that sense.

And you're mentioning 1 player breaking through ,really ? And ironically that was much before the takeover from Roman.
