Is there any way to measure it?

That "countdown to 2000 users" thread just made me think about this.

Is there any possibility to have something like "posts per day / week" statistics for the whole forum?
It would be interesting to follow not only the number of users but is the forum's activity actually moving.

Here are our current stats:

Posts per day 1337.23

Topics per day 43.61

Users per day 3.74

Multiple by 7 and you'll get the weekly stats and then by however many days are in the month will give you the monthly stats and so on or the annual stats if you want.

Is there some way to access this historically? Like at X day Y amount of posts were posted, and so on.

It'd be cool if those stats posted by McLewis could be seen on the main page in the form of "this week there have been x posts per day". And like Alfred said, if the history of that was available through a click. But this is a minor thing and I'm not really expecting any one of the mods to go through any pain-staking effort to get this done.
