Anyway, weird for me to hope United win...but I'm going to for this game.
If Tottenham is your 2nd club, shouldn't you wish for a Chelsea victory? United losing and Tottenham winning would put the North London club just one point behind United. You'd still be 5 points behind Chelsea even if they lose and you win.

Probably a fair point. Point conceded. I think I'll just stay neutral.
I want Chelsea to lose because I can't stand them being first tbh and I hate Chelsea more than Man Yoo (especially after last week), but you do have a fair point.
It's really personal bias is what it is

terry not playing so chelsea defence actually has a decent chance of a respectable scoreline

Re: United Vs Chelsea
As an LFC fan I am actually going for United to keep up their record of coming from behind to win , @26 for Chelsea/United half/full time its great odds considering United have come back from behind to win form 7/8 of their last games

Kagawa is out, so Fergie will go with the 4-4-2.

Re: United Vs Chelsea
I'm with you, Art. I actually had to double check that this was being played at Stamford Bridge.Art Morte wrote:Anyone else find it annoying when people have it the wrong way round in the title when making these threads? It's Chelsea v United.
I can see Fergie trying the diamond-ish formation again this week. Possibly like this:
----------De Gea/Lindegaard
Rafael-Ferdinand-Evans-Evra
---------------Carrick
-----Cleverly-------Giggs/Scholes
--------------Rooney
-----Welbeck--------RVP
While Rafael is beginning to show a strong impulse to get forward and overlap, I might consider playing Valencia at the RB position. Though Rafael might be slightly more solid defensively, I think Valencia’s positional discipline might allow him to pick and choose his attacking forays a bit better than Rafael. In addition, I would go with Giggs or Scholes in the midfield to add experience and a bit of a goal threat. I would prefer Giggs, as he would not be afraid to drift wide and supply quality balls into the box.
Chelsea’s line-up picks itself today. With Lampard and Terry out, I believe we will see something like this:
--------------Cech
Ivanovic-Cahill-Luiz-Cole
-------Ramires-Mikel
------Mata-Oscar-Hazard
-------------Torres
…nothing overly prophetic there.
The match today is likely to be won in the midfield. Whoever can win the battle between Chelsea’s line of Mata-Oscar-Hazard and ManU’s line of Cleverly-Carrick-Giggs will be favorites to come away with the points. The threat of Chelsea’s attacking midfielders will – I believe - lead Fergie to try the diamond again. Due to some defensive instability, I think Fergie will try to set up his side to match up directly against Chelsea’s strength, rather than bypass them through wing-play.

Re: United Vs Chelsea
Liverpool fans reduced to talking about their bitter rivals instead of their own title ambitions. Wow.
But then again I believe the ref will gift us a few pens and I'm looking forward to it.

Manc United's opponents suffering two reds, the latter one which was absolutely incredible, in a huge game? What. A. Surprise.

Re: United Vs Chelsea
Makes no sense to watch football when Refs are the one and only thing that determine the game.
I don't even think they pay the refs I just think this is how it is.
It's been accepted that they get differential treatment and that's that.
Really don't think I can stomach another United game like this , there's been too too many.

Re: United Vs Chelsea
Is it simply incompetence from referees or is it corruption? Because it has to be one or the other.
Most likely incompetence, but it makes you wonder. How can these officials be the best? Surely there are better ones out there than this lot.

Just feel so ashamed being an United fan now. Played fantastic, went 2-0 up within 15 minutes and then tried to sit back for the whole game. When that doesn't work, we have our back up plan which is the referee. What a great game up til the first red card.

I think the first red was reasonable but I couldn't fathom that the second was given. Don't get me started with the Hernandez goal.
Embarrassing.
