When did Tekken merge with Street Fighter?

It didn't merge. It's a clash of the titans- type of game. It's not like the series will continue as a joint project, or anything It looks like they just took some of the most popular characters from both games and created a completely new story where they all have to battle it out against each other. I haven't been very impressed with the last few Tekken games, so I think I'll wait for some reviews before I decide on whether to purchase this game, and the upcoming Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

It is.. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is supposed to come out next month, or so.. if I remember correctly. Why did you edit your post?

This game, Street Fighter X Tekken might be out already, for all I know. Those videos on youtube were uploaded earlier this year, after all.

Cinematics always hype these sort of games.

Yeah Street Fighter X Tekken came out March of this year.
