Not saying i agree with the numbers of course... but if you're going to compare, it should be apples to apples.

When I made the last list, transfermarkt hadn't yet updated their page. In such situations I usually use goal.com/espn.com and apply transfermarkt rules. This time though the play by play said Di Maria assisted the goals.

Oh come on. Benz was the one who assisted the Kaka goal. Di Maria wasn't even in the play. The other one... i don't think it's a Benz assist. But transfermarkt does lol.

Edit: I looked at goal.com and they game Benz the assist on the Kaka goal. At worst it should be 18 goals and 19 assists.

Can you understand writing, at all? I said I try to apply transfermarkt rules from goal.com play by play, which at the time indicated that Di Maria had the assists. Now that we can verify, I can modify. Isn't it simple?

You can't count the BS competitions. You usually just go CL, league and cup (FA that is, not the other crap)... that's it.

Every official competition is counted here, that includes Supercups, Fifa Club World Cup, Europa League and so on.

Mata has 19 official goals in 12-13 for Chelsea.

I'm pretty sure that adjusted for playing time Messi is doing just as well as last season, statistically. It's just that he's only playing like 2/3rds of the minutes he did last season.
