'Tubby' Bendtner on Juve diet

There are reports Nicklas Bendtner’s Juventus debut will be delayed until the former Arsenal striker can lose weight.

The Dane was brought in on loan with an option to buy from the Gunners, but his initial impact has not been impressive.

According to the Italian media, Bendtner seemed very overweight during his first training session with teammates in Turin.

It’s believed he will be placed on a strict diet and exercise regime so that he can get in shape quickly.

At this stage it is not clear when Bendtner will be able to make his Serie A debut, but he has just under two weeks to prepare.

I am eager to see him in action. Although I wasn't behind his transfer and I still wouldn't have done it he was wasted at Arsenal playing too wide to accomodate RVP and he is 6 foot 5 so he gives us that extra dimension.

It's not as easy to park the bus against us because that means we have the combination Pirlo in acres of space with plenty of time to pick out passes and a 6 foot 5 man in the box. No matter how many people surround him he is going to be favourite in the air.

in his pictures he didn't look overweight. this seems like a lot of speculation from the press (could be true though). if it's true, i feel sorry for the guy. he goes from culinary purgatory (england) to food heaven (italy) and is immediately put on a strict diet. poor bastard

The press is just attacking him like they do with Balo

if he can get in shape quickly he could have a few days from the international break to focus on getting some serious eating done.

well you can't really look at someone & determine their weight...
Also, they meant over weight for an athlete. He might not have enough stamina to play 90 mins of football in Conte's system...
Look at Muriel...when he returned to Udinese this summer, Guidolin said he was over weight...to me he looks closer to malnutrition than over weight

perhaps the loose-fitting turtle neck was meant to conceal some flab

Bendtner has very poor discipline as this is quite well documented.

I know I've repeated this like a 4352534 times but what more do you expect from a guy who literally tried to ransack a Danish Pizza shop for Pizza?

He's lucky Conte isn't on field and training with him as God knows what he would make him go through if he was.

i do not know how fit he is now, but under the euro 2012 Jens Bangsbo said that Bendtner was in perfect shape and ha had the best test score on the danish national side.

i also know that the players had to write to Bangsbo how much they trained in their club and Bangsbo was very surprised how little they trained in sunderland so he wrote back to bendtner with an ekstra trainig program.

Jens bangsbo talked to Juve and Nicklas before this move,so i do not think that he is in a disastrous condition.

but it will be interesting to see

Good find Turmoil. I think Bendtner won't take long to get fit enough. He probably is fit enough but still packing a few pounds as you'd expect from a footballer who's had no pre-season.

This is what he said on september fifth through his Twitter:

The media press him hard to lose it like they do with Balo he is their target but he must be mature
