Juventus getting closer and closer to completing swoop on Man City
Juventus are getting closer to signing wantaway striker Edin Dzeko from Manchester City.
City have reportedly dropped their asking price to an extremely competitive 15 million pounds, and it is believed that the Italian outfit may bring out the required amount from their transfer kitty to meet City’s revised valuation for the striker.
The defending Serie A champions had ear-marked Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente as their first choice, after missing out on Robin van Persie, but were put off by the high fee demands, and have set their sights on Dzeko, reports La Gazetta dello Sport.
26 year old Dzeko has not been first choice for City despite putting in a number of impressive performances, mainly due to the abundance of talented strikers at the club like Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli, and reportedly wants to leave for a club where he will get more playing time. City are also rumoured to be ready to offload the 26 year old, provided they can sign Scott Sinclair from Swansea.
On the contrary, City manager Roberto Mancini has declared that Dzeko will not be leaving the club, adding that there were no potential bids for the Bosnian striker. Mancini insisted that both Dzeko and Nigel De Jong would stay at the club as they were required in the team, but nothing remains certain as we head towards what will an exciting last week of transfers in this window.
