As for Marin i never thought he would start, seems blatant that he will be Mata's back up.
Personally would play Mikel-Lampard Moses-Mata-Hazard Torres but it probably won't happen that way.
I'd play Oscar in there somewhere, but eh
Not gonna go anywhere unless they sort out the defence atm
Agree, we defended well last season when we defended deep and countered. But with our new players that doesn't really work.

Re: Chelsea sign Victor Moses
That's the problem.... your defence is rock solid when defend deep but when playing a more expansive game it is poor.
Mainly because Lampard, Mikel, Terry Ivanovic and Cole don't like doing the pressing one way and going back the other way in one movement they are not designed to defend that way.
The other problem is to fix this problem with those players is to defend deep and counter and then you restrict Hazard and Mata.
Oh well it's a work in progress with Chelsea but i'm sure it will work out eventually.

Yeah we'll gradually change but this season while I think league wise we'll do better than last season I still think we've got a period of changing the way we play. Once we actually get everything together and our new signings gel then we'll play some great football, we've seen gimplises of what we can do but it's still very rough in patches.

Our defense has been poor even when we've played deeper. No idea what you're on about Mole.
JT's decline because of injuries/age is the main reason why we're awful these days in my opinion. He can no longer carry the team like he did in past years.
If Lampard stayed back instead of bombing forward looking for goals that would certainly help us alot but he wants to break Bobby Tambling's record so that won't be happening anytime soon.

The only way last season we got through CL was defending deep, we had luck but deeper in the pitch our lack of pace doesn't show.

Ok Rock Solid might have been too far but you do look stronger when you play a sitting a countering type of game rather than a more expansive attacking game.
It suits your midfield pivot and defence more.
Speaking of Terry he's supposedly out tomorrow, not sure what to think of that tbh

We got battered against Barca at Stamford Bridge & Bayern had 40 shots against us & should have won easily.
Sitting back & inviting teams onto us wasn't why we won.
Only great defensive performance last season was at the Nou Camp after JT got sent off. We actually defended as a team in that game.

Could be really good or really bad. His organisation and leadership will be missed but it will be a good chance to see Luiz/Cahill or maybe even Ivanovic/Cahill if Luiz is still struggling with his knee. Second could only happen if Azpi is able to play so will be interesting.
