he says that mourinho did jack shit as a player-----True
Says Mourinho is the only one crazy enough to call themselves the only one----Again true
Says the best policy is to create players rather than buy them-----Massive amount of silverware in the last few years for barca would suggest this is true
Says that himself and rosell dont share the same philosophy regarding the club----Widely known already
Concludes with saying that Tito is going to have to step up a lot when it gets tough to prove himself-----Again true
so why the abuse?!
why does he feel the need to come out and say mourinho hasnt done anything as a player?
everything else is fine its the mourinho comment that makes no sense and is just rude.
cruyff should retire his mouth tbh. or at least stick to barca and dutch nt comments.

obviously he is no saint but its just as bad imo to stoop to mourinho's level. in the same article cruyff sites the 'more than a club' mentality, the way he talks does not represent that mentality imo.
i mean, really, as if playing ability and accomplishments as a player are any indicator of what type of manager you will be. mourinho is living proof that you dont need to be a wc player to be a wc manager. he was a shite player apparently (who cares).
also by saying this i also feel the necessity to mention that i do not defend anything that mourinho does negatively in the media or his actions that dont depict the true meaning of what it is to be a madridista either, so please no rebuttles along the lines of 'but mourinho did this and that blah blah'

I'm not defending Cruyff by saying Mourinho did it as-well.vanDEEZ wrote:Donuts wrote:You guys are acting as if Mourinho is a saint and has never said anything bad of someone else.. like come on really?

All I am saying is who cares and Mourinho most definitely had it coming from his past actions, one who shoots people will eventually get shot back.

Probably cause Mourinho dissed him for losing a champions league final 4-0. The only logical retort is to say Mourinho never made it as a player.
Re: Cruyff's latest opinions
Except Jose never really wanted to be a professional footballer. He went to college and got a degree and became a great coach and if he hadn't he could have gotten a different profession, a real job. Cruyff didn't even complete high school and yet he acts like some sort of intellectual/psychiatrist.
Imagine if Jose said "In society Cruyff is nothing, he doesn't even have a degree.''

What's the point of a degree when you act like a child and poke someone else in the eye, on national television?
Cruyff is a hero to many, far greater than Mourinho can ever be.
Re: Cruyff's latest opinions
Cruyff is a hero to Barca/Ajax fans because he used to play for them, that's literally the only reason.

Playing football and being a coach is a real job Zeal.
And one does not have to complete high school or college to do great things in one's chosen field or to act like an intellectual. Some of the finest contributions to this world have come from people who have not had formal schooling. Cryuff is a good example of this.

Re: Cruyff's latest opinions
Oh man don't these football legends have better things to do with their time? In the end I know its their opinion and they can say what they want but is their really a need to say such things? To launch an attack on Mou shows that you are no better than him or not even a different person.

Nonsense. You're belittling his accomplishments. He has many fans who aren't even Barca/Ajax fans. He was a proponent of Total football.
Also, don't forget his 1974 Netherlands team destroyed argentina, east germany, and brazil on the way to the WC final.
You don't need to defend Mourinho at every juncture just cause you're a madrid fan you know...

Re: Cruyff's latest opinions
What's wrong with Gary Neville? he's probably the best pundit Sky have ever had from a tactical point of view.
His views are very good and none of them are really of a deluded old man.
I respect his opinions personally, shite commentator though.

Not really. This has to be one of the most stupid things I have ever heard.
Pele is a hero to Brazil people & Maradone to Argentina people only.
So Di Steffano is a hero to Madrid fans only & Garbage only??

Another Stupid idea. If you are a Top Level,World Class Level Footballer you CANT & you Absolutely CANT go to College.Zealous wrote:Except Jose never really wanted to be a professional footballer. A lot of huge personalities & visionaries have failed in school & have done 0 career wise. If you are on the road all days training to be THE BEST player in the world in TOP Level in the world you cant Attend College.
Its a given.
Mourinho probably failed in football & had to go to college because they need a job to feed their family & get 2 square meals a day

Re: Cruyff's latest opinions
Its obvious you cant expect a homeless lumberjack to know fine arts or an illiterate to understand poetry.
Lets be honest. Most generic persons in here are beneath that level. Cryuff is a Legend if there ever was one,a genius,a thinker,a creative mastermind,a great coach & an even bigger Student of the game.
Very few people in World Football have as great a mind as Cryuff.
In general Cryuff can make arrogant & egoistical opinions as it is the case with most successful people but he makes great points admist all that & if you are intellectually at a decent level you understand.
I admire Mourinho as a coach,he is a World Class coach but Very Mediocre Tactician,he is a dumbf*** when it comes to that & cant lace Cryuff's boots when it comes to that.
But Jose has other qualities,he is a fighter,a genius,he knows how to get the best out of his players,I dont think anyone can squeeze the maximum out of his players as much as Mourinho in World Football today.
But to understand Cryuff's philosophy & vision & statements intellectucally you have to a good amount of grey matter which I cant accuse all shallow posters in here of.

When Cruyff became the manager of Barca, La Masia had only existed for 9 years(infact the only reason why Barca has a youth academy in the first place is because Cruyff proposed the idea to Nunez back in 1979) and its pretty obvious that it takes time until a good player arrives from a youth academy, but even then we had Guardiola, Amor, Sergi, Alber Ferrer all of whom played more than 200 games for Barca and made their debut under Cruyff...
Edit: Fail on Mou's part, Romario didnt even play for Barca when they won the CL. You would expect someone who is so obsessed with Barca would know that..
