I think it would be foolish for anyone to talk directly about his professionalism, cant claim to know just how he is in this regard.

However, if he was complaining as much as it was suggested about his lack of games...he is very naive about what his current level of play is.

Perhaps he is one of who thinks he is still elite and should be treated as such.

He isnt the first and wont be the last to be lie to themselves about their level of play in their latter years.

Honestly, I doubt he complained, the guy is a Genius so it seems highly unlikely the media got it right and he acted like a fool.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't upset with him about the AVB disaster, no player is bigger than the club in my opinion. I still have great respect for him and what he's done for us but if it's between the future of the club and Lampard i'd take the future any day, if Lampard can be involved with that future then all the better.

I fear for our next manager Sad

Fairly sure his logic was something like:
If AVB isn't going to start me he needs to get results to justify my non-selection.

So when we were losing and he wasn't starting he has an issue with it. That's how I see it anyway.

Imo, this perfectly explains the situation.

If this is the case...Lampard was giving AVB a fair burden.

People are reading far much into the player power thing.

Lampard did not, and does not have the power over the coaches future. It all goes through Roman.

It is Roman's philosophy that undermined the manager, and it is his fault alone what Chelsea goes through. I do not think the Chelsea players respected AVB much; simply because they knew he was going to get sacked as soon as the going got tough. They all knew that all the talk about building a project is rubbish.

The media now goes on attacking Lampard, and showing the whole incident as a conspiracy by the old guard. All the while it is the spoiled child in the board room who is pulling all the strings.

Highly intelligent player and one of the best English midfielders ever to grace the game.

Huge fan of him and have been for years.

My favorite Chelsea player. By far their best player since the turn of the decade.

Highly underrated and highly consistent. Pure class in play and is definitely among England's finest midfielders of all time.

And I highly doubt he has anything to do with AvB's departure given his introspective professionalism.

Those people would be closer to Terry who just can't keep his mouth shut.
