Re: Your starting eleven assuming we sign Cazorla and Sahin?
Agree with Samuels line up, Arteta and Song did well last season we just lacked a creative midfielder. Rosicky did well but he is getting on now.
Sahin and Arteta will probably rotate quite often if he comes.
Coquelin will cover Song.
Wilshere will cover everyone
Want Giroud to start as would feel sort of bad for him if RVP stayed and he was on the bench for the season.

I'm surprised nobody has Rosicky as a strong contender to start. He was exceptional for us in the second half of last season, even if on paper the other guys might appear more reliable. Sam didn't even list him as a sub

i mentioned him in my lineup.. if he continues like last season, we can surely rotate him and Cazorla as CAM..Eman wrote:I'm surprised nobody has Rosicky as a strong contender to start. that will be great.. and we can bring in ox/walcott/gervinho as supersub for rosicky after 60 mins and move Cazorla centrally...Sina wrote:for tricky away games when we wanna keep the ball and control

Podolski vs Squid - Poldi signs for Arsenal

Re: Your starting eleven assuming we sign Cazorla and Sahin?
Read an article suggesting this lineup
----------------------------Szczesny
Sagna--------Koskos--------------Verma-------Gibbos
------------------Arteta------------Song
Cazorla-------------------RVP--------------Podolski
--------------------------Giroud
RVP would be just behind the striker and Cazorla and Podolski would be playing in advanced forward positions with Giroud playing the only position he can, really, the lone striker role.
Definitely capable of scoring goals and with Arteta and Song playing as holding midfielders our back four would get sufficient coverage, just means omitting some key players.
Our second team would look like this
---------------------------------Fabianski
Jenk/Yen/Coq------Mertesacker----Djourou----Santos
--------------------------Diaby-------Wilshere(uponreturn)
--------------------------------Rosicky
Walcott----------------------Chamakh--------------Gervinho/Ox
Unbelievable depth.

Re: Your starting eleven assuming we sign Cazorla and Sahin?
Van Persie hasn't played behind the striker in a long time. He's reinvented himself as a forward and I don't think he could play the role as effectively as his talent suggests.
I'm sure many would prefer Cazorla instead of Walcott, but Walcott is an important player. I think both of them would be able to work together really well.

Re: Your starting eleven assuming we sign Cazorla and Sahin?
I like cazorla better in the CAM role rather then the RW. But player selection would also depend on the opposition. Have a lot of players will help when our annual injury pandemic hits.
Any bets on how long diaby will stay fit.

No way, Arteta is indispensable for me. He's our heartbeat, our metronome, he's our Xavi.

Ya know... I was messing around with FIFA lineups for Arsenal last night, and this is exactly what I came to (although in FIFA I had Wilshere over Arteta). I think this could really work and would be an interesting lineup to experiment with.

I just realised...
Re: Your starting eleven assuming we sign Cazorla and Sahin?
Arteta was our best midfielder last season and people are leaving him out for Sahin who has played 2 games in the last 18 months?
Also for me Walcott+Gervinho on the wings until Chamberlain and Podolski show something in sub appearances and earn their spot in the 1st team.

i know it will become very narrow with Santi on the left wing, but Santos is there for a reason, and if Sahin also came then:

Re: Your starting eleven assuming we sign Cazorla and Sahin?
To me the key players are:
szczesny
kos
sagna
wilshere
cazorla
van persie
if they are fully fit, then they start, no questions asked. Now when we look at the back up to these players this is what we have:
fab
mert
yennaris
arteta, rosicky, and possibly sahin
walcott, chamberlain
giroud, podolki
goalkeeping and right back positions are weak if the starters get injured, which is worrying considering sagna is having some serious injuries. Fabianski is not good enough even to be back up, this was proved when wenger kept playing szcz when he was injured
the rest are quite strong back up.

Re: Your starting eleven assuming we sign Cazorla and Sahin?
If you sign Sahin, i think something like this would be best:
--Szczesny--
--Sagna-- --Mertesacker-- --Koscielny-- --Vermaelen--
--Arteta-- --Song-- --Sahin--
--Cazorla--
--Giroud-- --Podolski--
With Cazorla drifting out right and Podolski drifting out left, so it still provides width. If you dont get Sahin and keep Van Persie, it would look like this in my opinion:
--Szczesny--
--Sagna-- --Mertesacker-- --Koscielny-- --Vermaelen--
--Arteta-- --Song--
--Van Persie-- --Cazorla-- --Podolski--
--Giroud--
--Sagna-- --Mertesacker-- --Koscielny-- --Vermaelen--

If Everyone is fit n dandy

-------------------------------Giroud----------------------------------------------
lol just kidding about ramsey.Would mean Gervinho on the right and Podolski on the left. With Oxlade, Theo rotating. Oxlade can also play instead of Cazorla in the middle with Cazorla on the Left/Right.
If RVP stays he starts upfront in some matches while Giroud starts in the others
