Wambach up to 180 goals in 240 international appearances.
180 goals.
She's scored more headed goals than most players have scored goals (76).

Re: Women's Football Stars
Oh, by the way - FC Bayern München are German Champions this year - only for the second time in history. But they did manage this feat without suffering a single defeat and were thus proper invincibles!
This means Bayern München and VfL Wolfsburg (runners-up of the Bundesliga) have both qualified for the Women's Champions League 2015/16.

Re: Women's Football Stars
This summer, Célia Šašić (née Okoyino da Mbabi) decided to hang up her football boots at the still tender age of 27 after almost 11 years as Bundesliga player and German international.
Célia Šašić won 111 caps (scoring 63 goals) for Germany and was two-times winner of the European Championship, three times winner of the Algarve-Cup, Champions League winner 2015 and top scorer of various tournaments, among them the World Cup 2015.
Šašić wants to complete her university degree in cultural studies (as she is the German born daughter of a French mother and Cameroonian father, she was pretty much predestined for such a field of study) plus she wants to found a family

Re: Women's Football Stars
Here's a great article about Nadine Angerer published on dfb.de:
Full article: http://www.dfb.de/news/detail/angerer-set-to-hang-up-her-boots-in-portland-129705/Angerer set to hang up her boots in Portland
When Thorns FC goalkeeper Michelle Betos first learnt that she had a new teammate, Germany international goalkeeper Nadine Angerer, what she heard was terrifying. “One of the girls here last year saw her in the locker room before anybody had seen her. And they were like, 'Have you seen Nadine? She's huge! She's so scary!'” Betos recalled. “So I'm expecting when we show up in Arizona for pre-season this enormous, terrifying woman to come in. Obviously, she wasn't like that at all.”
At the conclusion of the 2015 NWSL season, the experienced Angerer will hang up her boots, having won two World Cups, five UEFA European Championships, a UEFA Women's Cup, four German Cups, and having set the record for most consecutive World Cup minutes without conceding a goal. By almost any measure, Angerer is the most decorated goalkeeper in the history of women's football.

Why? Suing is just about the most American thing I can think of. Seems fitting.

Re: Women's Football Stars
Short version of it: The Collective Bargaining Agreement between the women's players' association and the US Soccer Federation officially expired in 2012 but they've been operating under a memorandum of understanding with the terms unchanged. The lawyers for the women's association have recently argued that it is invalid, allowing the players to take action (up to and including strikes, with forward notice) in their negotiations with the Federation over a new CBA that would put them on closer to equal footing with the US Men's team. The suit filed is meant to establish that the Memorandum (and thus terms of the previous CBA, including clauses blocking strikes) is still valid and in effect, preventing potential disruptions or even cancellation of the upcoming events including tournaments, Olympic participation, and NWSL season).

Re: Women's Football Stars
Yeah, I heard that on TV yesterday. Very sad as Nadine Keßler was such a good player which showed when she won UEFA Best Women's Player in Europe 2014,
FIFA World Player of the Year 2014 and IFFHS World's Best Women Player 2014.
Sadly, Nadine Keßler only reached 29 caps for the German Women NT (scoring 10 goals in the process) due to her persistent injuries (she had 9 surgeries on her knee between her 18th year of age and today).
Other than that she won the Bundesliga twice each with Turbine Potsdam and VfL Wolfsburg and the CL three times (once with Potsdam and twice with Wolfsburg), among a couple of further titles like the DFB-Pokal and with the NT the Euros and the Algarve Cup.
She will be sorely missed on the pitch!
