Wilt, Magic, Bird, Kareem and Shaq I consider better but I could probably make an arguement for him vs a few of these.

Duncan, Russell, Big O and Hakeem are in the next batch, I consider Kobe better than all of them.

It depends how you want to do it. Do you want to go with career C.V, who was at the highest level at their peak..how much doe longeivty play a part? Depending on each of those you would rank him differently.

So, I have him at number 7. Part of me considers him better than Kareem though if im honest.

He's once never shot 50% in his career. This is despite having the most dominant big man in the game who attracted double & even triple teams regularly. Playing with Shaq & and an admittedly past it Malone & GP. Two 7 footers in the best passing big man of the decade in Gasol & the 2nd best center Andrew Bynum. Etc

This is probably he's best chance to do it this year with such as tacked team. Let's see if he can get it done.

Why has he been mediocre in every single one of the finals he's played in? Shouldn't even have been the finals MVP against Boston in 2010. Gasol & Artest saved his arse that year.

Why hasn't he ever won a series his team wasn't favourites in? Choking against the Suns back in 06 with a 3-1 series lead, against OKC last season etc

Why doesn't he have a memorable game or moment in the playoffs?

Why hasn't he ever tabled a triple double in the playoffs like all the other greats?

Kobe has been blessed that his circumstances were favorably better than other greats.

Other greats have performed as good and even better, but their circumstances weren't in their favor. How many times did we see Charles play out of his mind only to lose? or early MJ? or LeBron till this year or Malone/Stockton or *insert great name here* but their circumstances at that moment didn't allow them to win.

Kobe is great, a legend, one of the best ever.... but ffs don't overlook his many many many many faults and forget past greats, some of whom we've never seen play. He's been too inconsistent in his career, his legacy has been boosted and elevated by people desperately trying to search for the next MJ *cringe* , and he's been sub par leaving much to be imagined when it mattered the most. His first 3 rings should have an *asterisk* next to them, since a number of players playing with Shaq would've been able to capitalize on Shaq's dominance. And honestly, his last 2 haven't been very impressive imo.


So what's the difference between Kobe and somebody like Bird or Magic who played with great big men and had great circumstances?

They didn't bottle it when it mattered.

They had more to do with their victories then Kobe did with his, actually Kobe UNDER-PERFORMED!!!!!

What a terrible post lol. Yeah lets write off legends because we may not have seen them play live. Youtube? No. Ever heard of ESPN Classic? NBATV? Not to mention their resumes are known. Adding Pek still wouldn't get it done, it'd have to be something like Rubio, Pek, D-Will for Westbrook.

And while I'm not completely opposed to moving Westbrook to SG, it does have drawbacks. You lose his size advantage for 1, and 2 he can't consistently shoot outside of 18 feet.

Plus in that scenario Ridnour would be the PG? I'd rather have a Westbrook/Shved backcourt before Ridnour/Westbrook.
