Re: Real Madrid Transfer Rumours
That's the problem people have too often imo, they only look at individual talent.
I look at each player skillsets, and eventhough in form kaka can be great, I think Cazorla would be more valuable, specially against the barca threat, and even in general, there is no risk factor to him, he is great and certainly hard working that kaka.

Cazorla is your typical Spanish midfielder, a possession whore who can keep the ball and passZsG7 wrote:But how much would they cost and would that improve our midfield?.St_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:babun1024 wrote:

Re: Real Madrid Transfer Rumours
Do we really need to buy more midfielders? What would Cazorla give to the midfield that sahin, ozil etc cant?.Where would he play?. He costs too much to be benched imo and he is like 26? most of our midfielders are u23

Re: Real Madrid Transfer Rumours
How do we have kaka on the bench, yet we say other players are too good for the bench?
he definitely would bring something kaka, ozil and sahin dont. The ability to be such a great possession keeper, while being a fantastic playmaker, being great in between the lines and being able to play Deep as a CM (ACM) and as high as a AM, and even on the wings.
very rare breed of player

Re: Real Madrid Transfer Rumours
I'd certainly take players like Javi Martinez, Borja, Parejo or Santi but there's just no space in our midfield. However I would swap them for Lass, Gago, Khedira, Granero, Kaka etc but it's unlikely.

i get that he is a player with breer range of talents but where would he play?

We don't really need to be buying players similar to Ronaldo or Di Maria.

Do you think the way Iniesta or Silva keep on the possession is similar to Di maris and ronaldo? those guys are genuine playmakers, they dont run around selfishly looking for a personal action. Their football is more horizontal than it is vertical and they definitely get people involved. Besides they love to dribble in between the lines and in small spaces, something Ronaldo or Di Maria dont do. you never have enough playmakers, that's my opinion. we are willing to keep kaka, yet Cazorla wouldnt slot in? i disagree, if i could make a play to sign him at the expense of kaka i would.

I rate kaka very highly as an individual, imo he is still very good but i still question his fitness, i dont think he is done having problems.
I just want something else for my madrid, not a greater individual, but a better player for us.
Cazorla would play just as much as Kaka would imo. he can play deep in a tridente very comfortably, can back up AM for Ozil, displace Di Maria off the wings, play in a 3 man attack as a winger/playmaker (what Silva does for the NT).

Re: Real Madrid Transfer Rumours
The way they play is extremely different. the closest to Di Maria's style in spain is Jesus navas.
Cazorla is more similar to Silva.

Re: Real Madrid Transfer Rumours
One direct winger (Ronaldo) and then a playmaker type winger on the other wing seems a good idea. However With Di Maria being more direct I think he needs to score more goals next season if he starts every game.

Re: Real Madrid Transfer Rumours
Now with the singing of Varane and the potential deal with Coentrao things are getting kind of messy here.
We have 5 players who can play CB: Pepe, Ramos, Carvalho, Albiol, Varane
We have 4 players who can play RB/LB: Ramos, Arbeloa, Coentrao, Marcelo
Considering that we all wanted a defence like this:
Coentrao--------Pepe---------Ramos------------Marcelo
That means that Carvalho will be our sub for the two CB-s meaning that Varane will not even play a single game this year. That's just not good for his development.

With the eminent sale of Lass, the signing of Varane seems alot more clear, he can fill in those minutes fine.
People forget he is as good in front of the defence line as he is at CB.
Because of his tactical awareness even at a young age and versatility he will get alot more playing time than most people will think.
Seeing if and when Lass leaves, our only true DM destroyers would be Pepe and Varane. Xabi is a DM but plays in a different manner, much like Gago. Khedira and Sahin are B2B players.

The guy from the redcafe article stated that Varane didn't look as good as he did when playing CB.

In the destroyer role he is fine, going forward from that role and trying to play more upfield he does not look as good/comfortable.
He can play the Lass role fine though.

Apparently Falcao himself on twitter that he would start negotiations with Perez if Perez was interested. Perez would just turn his phone off LOL.
