Well, the bojan news has been kinda obvious since last weekend.

But a transfer of the magnitude of Neymar to Real? too big of a piece for them to chew. I think they are just copying the first page of Marca, which a lot of medias are currently doing, and you can see the thread on the gen section.

No real ground, and why didnt break the transfer of Varane? cuz they have no insiders, at least i think...

True, but that is why I thought they based it on an official release by Madrid or something, since the Bojan news is clearly true and they aren't a gossip source generally...

Why Neymar?? he isn't striker. he plays in Ronaldo position.

We should sign Aguero.

I think a Neymar/Ronaldo striking pairing would be pretty special. They can interchange at any moment and both are more than capable of being CFs. My only concern is maturity, both physically and mentally, with Neymar. But he has tremendous talent and would not need to carry the team at Madrid. He is also very unselfish on the pitch.

As someone mentioned, we pretty much trounced everyone but Barca last year. I don't see that changing much this coming year.

Neymar plays Ronaldos position except he uses his team mates more. What is not to like about him?

He can be our unselfish Ronaldo in the future.

With all the potential signing and without 5 players that were mentioned to be out we'll have a squad like this:

Goalkeepers: Casillas, Adan

Defenders: Ramos, Arbeloa, Coentrao, Pepe, Carvalho, Varane, Albiol, Marcelo

Midfielders: Xabi, Sahin, Khedira, Altintop, Granero, Kaka, Ozil, Di Maria

Attackers: Benzema, Higuain, Ronaldo, Aguero, Neymar

I think we need to step back, wait a few days before getting too excited about all the potential deals. Let's go over a review of what's clear and then what are the variables.

We know we have the following players secured:

Goal: Casillas, Adan and with Mejias and Jesus at Castilla available for practices and occasional call-up games.

Defense: Ramos, Arbeloa, Pepe, Carvalho, Albiol, Marcelo with Mateos back for a try out and likely Nacho at Castilla available for practices and occasional call-up games.

Mid-Field: Alonso, Khedira, Sahin, Granero, Ozil (I list him here as CAM, but obviously he can play wing as well). There are MF at Castilla available for call-up, but it seems likely that the best (Sarabia) will be sold or lent out.

Wing: C. Ronaldo, Di Maria, Callejon, Altintop (I list him here but he also can play MF and RB).

Striker: Higuain, Benzema and Morata is possibly available for try out (there still is chance he may be sold or lent out before season starts).

That's 19 players.

Then we have the following that are in a list to be sold or lent out:
Garay, Gago, Leon, Canales, Drenthe.

And we have the possibility of Lass and Kaka being sold.

Now for possible deals we have:

3rd striker - several of us believe we are trying to get City to lower transfer price for Adebayar. Also there is possibility of Morata making club as 3rd striker. Nothing seems to be happening on this now, likely awaiting on other deals before looking into this.

Coentrao - If this happens, it essentially makes Ramos the replacement for Carvalho and Coentrao becomes starting RB. At least, this is what we have surmised. He also can play a wing as well. I suspect if he comes, Mateos is the one to go, leaving Carvalho and Albiol as 3rd and 4th CBs.

Aquero - If this happens, it means one of Benzema or Higuain will be sold. Our consensus (obviously not unaminous) is that Benz will be one to go.

Lass - This seems to be more and more a strong possibility that he will go. He is holding back saying no issues with club, but he hasn't accepted renewed offer on table for him and he hasn't taken back his request to leave. he wants more playing time to catch on with French NT again. Club is asking 20M for him and he is demanding 4.5M in salary. That's quite high IMO, and so far no deal. If he does go, we don't have a pure DM although we have several CBs and Altintop that can play that role on occasion. Our normal line-up will not have a DM, so it's debatable as to whether or not we need to replace him.

Kaka - He keeps saying he intends to stay, but several of us feel he is too limited to play for us right now and he would command a starting or regular sub role which prohibits development of younger players especially Ozil and Sahin. It also seems obvious that Madrid are quietly shopping him around so this is a wait and see. If he does go, we would definitely go for a replacement, somone with much more ball control and play making capabilities. Some of us are quite excited about possible replacements (Cesc, Cazorla or Thiago) although all of these at the moment seem unlikely.

Neymar - This one sounds like it is now happening, but we can't figure out how he fits in. It highly likely that this is a futures move with him staying at Santos. However it's anyone guess as to where , when he fits in. I don't see someone else going other than what's been mentioned above.

Varane - This one we debated quite a bit yesterday with Nick concluding (due to his age and need for more development in France) that it wouldn't happen. However we have all seen the stories again today that it may still be on. If he is signed, the question is if he came to Madrid, would he get sufficient playing time to continue his development. He would be the 4th CB (possibly ahead of Albiol) and he could play some DM (assumes Lass does go), But will this be enough. The other possibility is he also, like Neymar could be a futures deal.

Varane is coming. The club has admitted that talks have been going on.

"It's not done officially with Real Madrid but talks are on track and hopefully it [the transfer] will happen today," Martel said.

Martel is the club president.

Tonight's game is very important for Neymar. If he wins, he is automatically staying in Brazil till january at least.

we will see, i still believe that we will sign Aguero soon enough, specially now that Cerezo might be confirmed as president, things might move a little.
