Doubt AVB needs him.. They could put in a bid just to rub our noses in it though..

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Since Spurs' only options on the flanks are Bale and Lennon, I can see whatever interest they may have in Cazorla being genuine.
Personally, I'd want him so we could use him as an AMC. Podolski-Cazorla-Walcott-Giroud front line looks pretty good, if not a bit too offensive (if that makes sense). We'd be relying a lot of Podolski's and Walcott's discipline and work rate with that front four, but the potential for creating and goalscoring is high.

We will find out in few days, Arsenal want to keep him and they will not bring the selling price down. Any team with a brain will not pay that money, for another couple million you can buy Hulk for Falco younger and maybe as good.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
No selling to United for sure.. If Juve or other foreign club offers 15 that may be the best deal.. But if City comes with a huge bid like 25m then we may be well selling him.. Most of us here feel he will lose out his position in a star studded City or will get injured.. But what if he doesnt..?? He played almost the entire last 1.5 seasons in top form.. If he manages to do it again we are doomed.. So the best option will be to accept a lower bid from a non PL club..
*
and make sure we never pay players like Walcott so high that it will be very difficult to offload them if situation arises... 80k is already too high for him.. Cant see any chance he being better in another top club..
*
happy for Koscielny...
And great if we can sign a decent AM...

@bbcsport_david
Arsenal receive bids for Van Persie from #mcfc, #mufc & Juventus. He will not go on pre-season tour: http://bbc.in/OLMEhr #bbcfootball #afc
So i guess he is off then . Arsenal did so much for him and stood by him and now when he manages to stay fit for a season he decides to leave.

Apparently.
The Spanish press is even less reliable and more prone to making things up than than the English press -- which is saying something! But it would be nice if they were right about this one.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
@bbcsport_david: All 3 bids for RvP fall short of Arsenal asking price. Unwilling to enter formal talks until offer above £20m #bbcfootball #afc #mcfc #mufc
Wayne Veysey (goal.com jounro, realiable with his exclusives) is saying van Persie is refusing to go to on the tour, and that Man Utd aren't seriously interested (but apparently interested enough to make a bid, if we believe the BBC).
That Juventus bid is encouraging, though.
And this confirms without a doubt that we have little intention of keeping van Persie until his contract expires, which is also encouraging.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
I have new respect for Nasri after what RVP is doing.
From a Captain, close to legend, loved by millions, we stood by him when no other club would have, and this is the thanks we get? I truly hate this man for what he is trying to do.
RVP saying Arsenal going in a wrong direction? we all know RVP is the one who is going in wrong direction. We will win trophies, and RVP can go a warm the hospital bed.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
fact93_ecoB: “Why have Man Utd not bid for RVP?”
Wayne Veysey: “I have been told that Van Persie is not a priority signing for Manchester United. They are more interested in recruiting Lucas Moura, Nuri Sahin and Leighton Baines. They are happy to be linked with Van Persie because it appeases the fans that the Glazers are willing to sanction marquee signings as well as emerging stars with sell on value (like Lucas).
“United would not be willing to pay more than £10 million for a player who turns 29 next month and has only a year remaining on his contract, given that he would demand a salary on a par with Wayne Rooney. A £25m move for Van Persie? That will not happen.”
Donozie: “Do Man City really need RVP?”
WV: “Good question. Man City have the ambition and resources to be the strongest club side in the world. And the best teams need the best players. I don't think anyone will disagree that Van Persie is an outstanding forward who can only make City more effective.”
ChimunguPeter: “What’s leading to the exodus of Arsenal's top players?”
WV: “Two things - money and the seven-year trophy itch. Arsenal's wage bill is not that far below the two Manchester clubs and Chelsea, it is just that the club and Arsene Wenger prefer to be more democratic in sanctioning salaries.
“The tiers between the elite players, the established players and the emerging ones are far narrower at Arsenal than any of their principal competitors. Hence, van Persie's current salary is not that far above the likes of Abou Diaby, Denilson and Nicklas Bendtner.”
Kwalimwadavid: “What, in your opinion is the most likely conclusion to the Robin van Persie circus?”
WV: “In my view, there are two potential scenarios. The first is that, believe it or not, Arsenal hold Van Persie to his contract and refuse to sell him this window. Despite where we stand now, this is still a distinct possibility.
“The second is that Van Persie joins Manchester City. From what I hear, Manchester United are not seriously in for him, even though they are happy to be linked with him!”

can we please stop talking about rvp on this thread? its annoying. when i come to this thread, i dont want to hear about rvp. i never go on the rvp contract thread because i dont want to hear anything about him, he has lost all my respect. don't care about rumours; all we need to know is the club he is going to officially and the fee, not bs rumours and crap. we should just stop talking about him all together.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Out of favour striker Marouane Chamakh is being linked with a move to Russian side Rubin Kazan.
A Kazan source told lifesports.ru, “Chamakh is very interesting to our club. He can be a great striker to provide a focal point to our attacks.”
“Work towards new acquisitions are still ongoing,” Life Sports Rubin spokesman Maxim Lopukhov said. “The primary goal is to find a forward. But in any case, I cannot give you any specific names.”
Chamakh’s agent, Pierre Frohlich is quoted too, saying of his client’s Arsenal career, “Marouane would like to continue playing in this team but if the Gunners will want to sell the rights to the player, we can talk about specifics.”
Wages would probably prove something of a stumbling block as Chamakh, signed on a free transfer, will have a signing on fee paid over the duration of his contract as well as his standard salary.
However, with the signings of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud the likelihood of Chamakh earning a first team spot are reduced, even if Robin van Persie leaves, and the goal-shy Moroccan international will really have to consider leaving to play regularly next season.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Park Ju-Young?
You're right, though. Assuming van Persie, Bendtner, Chamakh and Park all leave and Podolski will be used mostly on the left, that leaves us with Giroud and Afobe as our only striking options.
Although we could maybe just use Podolski or even Walcott if Giroud was unavailable. We'd have Gervinho and Chamberlain who could step in.
We'll have to see who leaves firsit. I have a feeling we won't be able to get rid of all of them.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
The Guardian: Arsene Wenger will give his first pre-season interview on Saturday morning, when he speaks with Arsenal TV.
Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Arsenal will pursue a move for Atletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente if Robin van Persie leaves this summer.
Manager Arsene Wenger wants a quick resolution to the Van Persie saga so he can either prepare for the new season with the Dutchman in his plans or have enough time to find a replacement.
And Sportsmail understands Wenger and his scouting team have spoken at depth about a move for Spanish forward Llorente should their talisman leave.
The 27-year-old, who scored 28 goals for Bilbao last season, has a £28 million release clause written into his contract. Wenger would use the £20 million or more from Van Persie's sale in his attempt to lure the striker.
