Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Arsenal will pursue a move for Atletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente if Robin van Persie leaves this summer.
Manager Arsene Wenger wants a quick resolution to the Van Persie saga so he can either prepare for the new season with the Dutchman in his plans or have enough time to find a replacement.
And Sportsmail understands Wenger and his scouting team have spoken at depth about a move for Spanish forward Llorente should their talisman leave.
The 27-year-old, who scored 28 goals for Bilbao last season, has a £28 million release clause written into his contract. Wenger would use the £20 million or more from Van Persie's sale in his attempt to lure the striker.

Wouldn't it be better if we sign Jovetic?Isn't he cheaper and younger than Llorente?

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Luciano Spalletti has revealed that he would be interested in taking Arsenal misfit Andrey Arshavin back to Zenit St Petersburg following a successful spell at the club last season.
The 31-year-old fell out of favour at the Emirates Stadium in the first half of last season and was subsequently shipped out to his former side for the rest of campaign in a bid to secure a place in Russia's squad for Euro 2012.
Arshavin impressed during his spell back home, scoring three times in 10 appearances, and Spalletti has since conceded the attacker forms part of his transfer wishlist ahead of the new season, which starts on Saturday.
"We will buy players," the Italian coach told Zenit's official website. "In my opinion Arshavin is a player of real class and, in addition, he is an intelligent man. It all depends on what his motivation is.
"I have little doubt about Arshavin. I'm sure if he came back, he would play as well as last season. He is one of the names that we have discussed."
Zenit won a second consecutive Russian Premier League title under Spalletti in May.

Fiorentina have denied making an offer for Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh.
The Morocco international joined the Gunners on a Bosman free transfer from Bordeaux in 2010.
But he has failed to hold down a regular place at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was this week quoted as saying Fiorentina had made an offer for the 28-year-old.
However, Viola sporting director Daniele Prade said: "We have not made one because he earns £2.3million a year."
Prade did confirm Chamakh's Morocco striker partner Mounir El Hamdaoui would soon join them from Ajax.

Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is a target for Watford.
Almunia is a free agent after being released by the Gunners.Almunia was farmed out on loan to West Ham United in the early part of the campaign, and offered little threat to Wojciech Szczesny when he returned.

Arsenal and Manchester City are monitoring Atletico Madrid whizkid Oliver Torres.
The 17 year-old was part of Spain's U19 Euros triumph this summer, with his form attracting interest from England.
Arsenal and City are already testing the ground, with Atletico wary of losing the youngster before the close-season transfer window shuts.
Atletico coach Diego Simeone has added Torres to his squad for their trip to LA.

Anderlecht goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski has no regrets over turning an offer from Arsenal down.
Kaminski admits he was stopped from signing for the Gunners by his agent.
"Everything was ready," he revealed to La Dernière Heure. "The club proposed a house available to my family and my father could get a job. But we have not consented.
"My manager thought it was not the right time."

Juventus chiefs are convinced they can win the race for Arsenal contract rebel Robin van Persie.
The London Evening Standard says Juventus are determined to reestablish themselves as a major force in European football having last won the Champions League in 1996.
They have already signed Sebastian Giovinco,Asamoah,Mauricio Isla, Martin Caceres, Lucio and Paul Pogba this summer.
But Juventus officials feel Van Persie could make the club a real force in the Champions League as well as make them even stronger as they defend their Serie A crown.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has a three-man shortlist to replace want-away striker Robin van Persie.
The Daily Mail says Arsenal will pursue a new striker signing if Van Persie leaves this summer.
Wenger and his scouting team have spoken at depth about a move for Athletic Bilbao centre-forward Fernando Llorente should their talisman leave.
In addition to Llorente, Fiorentina Stevan Jovetic and Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski have also been discussed as possible replacements for Van Persie.
Between the 3,I would ideally prefer Steven Jovetic. But Viola don't want Chamakh,so signing Jovetic in a swap deal isn't possible.Signing Lewandowski should be our last option,if AFC can't sign either Jovetic or Llorente.

Cazorla's in talks with Arsenal about a move from Malaga. No offer made yet from Arsenal's side but reportedly he's available for 20million euros. (approximately 15million pounds)

AS isn't really reliable, but Wenger is a long admirer of him.

Reliable "Telegraf" say that Ajax are interested taking Ryo Miyaichi on loan: http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/voetbal/ajax/12602064/__Ajax_wil_Ryo_Miyaichi__.html
If he could get a starting place this would be a fantastic loan experience for Ryo. Only if Arsene has no plans of using him this season.

Incase Matri deal doesn't go through, another alternative for Milan would be Arsenal hitman Bendtner, as he is only 24 years old, a Danish international who is strong in the air and would be available for €7m.

Park or Miyaichi in Al Ain’s sights
Al Ain: Arsenal’s Park Chu-young or Ryo Miyaichi are on Al Ain’s wish-list to replace Yassir Al Qah’tani for a season on loan, according to a club source.
Information revealed Tuesday suggested Al Ain have been locked in talks for the past 12 days with a mystery English Premier League player set to replace Saudi striker Al Qah’tani.
Lyon’s Michel Bastos is already a confirmed target to fill in for outgoing Argentine midfielder Ignaccio Scocco.
Names were not disclosed regarding the Premier League player, but when pressed for details by Gulf News a source close to the club revealed the player was “Asian and plays for Arsenal”.

These Llorente rumours are a bunch of crap. Why would we sign Llorente when we've already got Giroud and Podolski? The same goes for Lewondowski. Jovetic may be a possibility because he play in other positions, but it's still unlikely.
Miyaichi to Ajax on loan would be a fantastic move if he gets consistent game time. He once had a trial there, but broke his leg so Ajax didn't sign him, and he's familiar with the Dutch league.

True. Even Jovetic would require a huge adjustment in Arsenal's transfer policy because he would probably cost more than Van Persie. I think Mirallas or someone of that nature is much more likely.

The M'vila deal seems to have cooled down. Some are saying that Wenger is basically playing hardball to lower the price even more, but I don't know. Seems like he's satisfied with the players we have and the young ones that are coming through.
There has been an official bid for Niang that has been rejected, and the Cazorla links keep on getting stronger and stronger. I think that, if/once RVP is sold, we'll see at least one of these deals go through.

Bendtner [Malaga and AC], Park [Al Ain] and Arshavin [Zenit] are in talks to move away from Arsenal. Squillaci trying to be shifted.
Good news, we're making some sort of progress with shifting the dead-wood. Squillaci still not linked with any club hahaha, it's kinda sad

Frank de Boer has admitted that he is unsure as to whether Ajax can complete a move for Arsenal youngster Ryo Miyaichi.
The Japan international moved to the Gunners in January 2010, but has since left north London on loan, enjoying spells at both Feyenoord and Bolton Wanderers.
He was particularly impressive during his stint at De Kuip, but with his path to first-team football blocked at the Emirates Stadium, has been linked with a temporary move to the Amsterdam club.
However, De Boer does not think that his side will be able to land the 19-year-old, but insists that he has several other transfer targets in mind.
"In my opinion he is not an option any more," he told Eredivisie Live. "There are several candidates. We'll know more soon."
Ajax will enter the coming Eredivisie season as back-to-back champions. They last won three consecutive titles between 1993-94 and 1995-96.
