Iniesta: Messi deserves the Ballon D'Or

When the tournament's MVP was asked about his BdOr chances, he replied as follows:"Of course it would please me to receive it, but what is important for me is to be happy on the pitch. Messi deserves it the most, not only for his goals, but for everything."

ofcourse iniesta doesn't deserve it lol it would be embarrassing for him to say that he deserves it in an interview (ffs... even in Euro, he was well behind likes of Pirlo .. Ramos .. Alonso and so on)

You all know its for which player performs best over a calender year? usually this is just a technicality as it normally goes to the guy that won major trophies during the season, but seeing as messi won nothing major there is still about 4 months of football to go to challenge him

Ronaldo wasn't even the best player on his team. Ozil at this point deserves it more based on his performance with Germany and Real Madrid. If you want to go off trophys won then Mata deserves it more

Lets be realistic, Messi was not only the best goal scorer but the most needed player for his team. Take Ronaldo out of Real Madrid and they still win the league

Ronaldo will win the Ballon D'Or quite easily, it makes no difference to the voters who count (ie Coaches and referees) whether the award is for the calender year or the just ended season.

Ronaldo has done a lot to deserve it this year, he's excelled in every competition he's played in this season, it will be further confirmed as the season progresses with Madrid probably leading the league with 10 points at the time the votes are cast.

Messi was so good that even with the GOAT Barcelona team, he only managed to trail Real Madrid by 9 points.

He was so good that in 120 minutes against Chelsea, he lost the ball that led to Chelsea's first goal in the first leg, missed a penalty that would have killed of Chelsea, and scored a massive 0 goals in the two legs.

yeah, it was Messis fault that Villa, Pedro, Sanchez, Xavi,Puyol and Iniesta missed alot of games last season because injury. It was Messi's fault that when HE put goals on a plate for his teammates just for them to miss in crucial games(like for Xavi against Real Madrid or Villa against Valencia).

Football is a 11 men game. There is only so much that a single player can do for his team single handedly. And if it wasnt for Messi, we wouldnt even be on Europa league IIRC..

Just as expected the silly table comes along, are you saying Xavi, Iniesta and co are so terrible that Messi with all those goals ( remember a lot of these goals were scored after Barcelona were out of contention for the league, and Messi wanted to pad up his stats) couldn't win the league, or was it due to the fact that Ronaldo and Real Madrid were just superior over the course of the season.

Its a well known fact that last season was Xavi's worst season in a long time, no matter how many goals he scored. As for Iniesta, he was far to inconsistent or injured..

Because refs forgot to give penalties for Barca during the season, and then noticed this after RMA had pretty much won the league. Very Happy

The stats are pretty self explanatory, Messi was clearly better as individual. RMA won it because they played better as a team.

Against Chelsea in the 2nd leg Messi did miss alot of chances, but he did create a goal. But against Real Madrid? No way.. And apart from Sevilla and Chelsea, Messi didnt miss that many decisive misses that made us lose points..
