Ancelotti apparently wants Isco as a false 9 backup for him. Hopefully we sign a proper backup striker though.

Surely he can't think Isco will work as a false 9 lol? He would be good at creating space though and he is very clever but he would be far deeper to be called a false 9. Ronaldo and Bale will end up upfront eventually.

I still don't have complete faith in Benzema, to be honest. His performances for Real Madrid have been unstable, to say the least. I was definitely a fan of him when he played for Lyon, and I was excited to find out that he was going to come to Madrid, but his performances have been as impressive as they have been disappointing. I hate to sound negative/cynical, but he's a prime example of how easily some of the fans on here go from bashing a player, to praising him as a genius.

On point, thimmy. Isco will be the underdog that will take that position from Benz finally.

Isco is young, barely has made a starting position for him... he's more of a SS than a AM (tbh he is neither but rather a mix of both) and there have been several SS that have managed to adapt to false 9... Tbh, lots of strikers learn to play as a false 9 at their later careers. No doubt that Isco can learn it. I even think he suits it... So it's going to work if you ask me. That's why Carlo believes it too. He might fail but the idea sounds good on paper.

se7en isco has never looked good as false 9 accept it, and for the last time stop expecting exceptional things from the player who see's the least amount of the ball second to the keeper , wise up already

a backup cf is necessary...almost everyone on our team has some sort of competition going on for a spot on the park. the center forward spot should be no different. 60 plus games is way too much to not have a candiditate available in the event benzema gets injured or loses form

the problem i think carlo and the club face is they don't want a repetition of a benz/hig situation which favors neither forward and rather has one believing the other is favored over them...they also don't want a complete scrub (as a fan, i don't either), who will be comfortable with drinking gatorade on the bench and getting to watch a good game of football. or one who when called upon adds very little, as that will completely defeat the purpose...thus the question becomes who can they sign out there, that will not only deliver when called upon but keep benzema on his toes, especially now that zidane isn't in the coaching staff to provide that support

That's the thing.If Benzema is having his 4 months of "can't hit a barn door" period like first half of last season what are we going to do? We definitely need a back up forward. Really can't trust benzema alone for La Liga.

are you kidding? origi? then we would have been better off keeping morata or bringing someone from castilla. Origi would have the same effect morata had last season, which was very little. origi would even have less of an effect considering he's coming from another country, would need time to settle, and has only had like two years of professional football....i'm sorry if benz gets injured, origi is NOT the one to take the mantle....isco as a false 9 (which i am totally against), james as a false 9 (which i am unsure about), a castilla player will all be better options than origi.....come on, I hope you are joking or being sarcastic. let's be serious people

Please tell us which player that gets excused for unfair circumstances? Only Benzema gets that treatment.
