I think they will be a very strong side this year. I am looking forward to AVB's attacking play too. I might be going out on a limb here, but I think next year is chelsea's treble winning year. Looking at Man U, The EPL is won I think. Man U didn't win the league this year, Chelsea lost it.

This. There's no way you're applying his pretty attacking football without new signings. Or well, evading decline without new signings. There's a lot of oldies and you need youth unless you want to go the Milan way.

United won last year comfortably with Carrick LOL

Buying De Gea, Jones, Young and a CM and a fit Fletcher = they will run away with it.

I don't think Chelsea need or will have a major overhaul like so many expect.

Two or three signings is all we really NEED atm. Two wide players(Neymar, De Bruyne/Marin/Aguero etc) and an attacking/creative midfielder (Pastore, Hernanes, Modric etc) and I honestly believe we'll walk the League.

That's the Ferguson factor, though. We know how he can take a San Marino player and make him solid. Plus apart from Giggs and Scholes there aren't that many oldies at Chelsea. Chelsea lack that grit ManU has always had.

I would not put it down all on Ancelotti, though. The players do have some fault in it as well. I'm guessing it's complacency most of all, because there is real quality there. When Essien does not perform you have some morale problems.

At the end of the day, he is only a coach, there is only so much he can do.

With the same team, cant see them winning anything big, they need some new player. The coach cant do much if the team is not good. This Chelsea side was a good team but age has gotten to them.

IMO, If AVB has the balls to drop Drogba and Essien. to Sell Malouda, Anelka and Kalou. And to promote Sturridge, McEachran and Van Aanholt we'll be set. We just need a great LW (hulk) and creative Midfielder (modric).

We can definitely stay on the top 2 places even with this team under proper guidance. But if we are to go to Europe and be successful we need 2-3 transfers as Gil said.

No love for Essien

Essien is great.. was simply outstanding for us. But there comes a time when a player is not the same any more. He is very injury prone and due to that he is inconsistent lately.
