JDS does indeed have a thunderous shot.

I don't watch him much so this could either be totally on or totally off, but Hernanes?

forget Meireles at the chelsea fire sale you can get yourself a Michael Essien. Hes just as suited to your style of play as Meireles and has a killer long shot plus he can run all day and he doesnt come with the tats and curious haircut

Iniesta has a very good shot on him and has used it on a couple of occasions. Masch and Afellay. JDS has though whether he is promoted and then regularly play is a another issue.

Tino Costa has a very powerful shot from distance, although he probably wouldn't be able to play for us.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Mikel Arteta. All his goals for us are long-shot goals. He even scored the only goal (long shot) when Man City parked the airplane at the Emirates. Not sure if he "could" play for Barca though.

How many goals should a player with great lon shots score per season?!

¤ Barcelona scored 15 goals this season from Outside the penalty box #fcblive | Messi 4 - Xavi 3 - Villa Alexis 2 - Iniesta Alves Kieta Pedro 1.
Including Free-kicks this season: Messi 3, Xavi 2, Villa 1.

I would say 4 or 5 would be a nice mark to aim for.

The problem with that stat is, for me those goals probably weren't all good long shots. Some were probably just placed from the edge of the box.

Still it reflects pretty well who our better long shots are. Despite being injured and having poor form, Villa had 2 (probably would normally have ended with 6). Then there is Messi and Xavi, probably our next best threats from outside the area.

Alves is good though he will mostly be on the wing and a goal from a long shot with the way he is positioned is at most very unlikely. Areteta is a former Barca playing and is very good and Im sure if Barca were desperate they would easily get him though we don't need a midfielder. A defender with a long shot is also out of the occasion as I want a defender who can defend not attack.
