When it was looking like he was gonna join them, he was "the next Ronaldo".
Now, he's overrated and inferior to the abominable Kagawa.

Gotta love Ure fans' logic

GOD DAMN IT!! STAY UP LATE ON HE AND HE SIGNS THE NEXT!!! STOP TROLLING ME EDEN!

Only Kidding, Welcome to the club! I could not be happier. It turns out he was always going to choose us as long as we have CL football. Also he never mentions Chelsea in the long run which I don't find surprising. His ultimate goal seems like Spain but for now it is England. Hope he does a CR7 on us, becomes the best player in the world and then we sell him off for a Profit!

Very Happy

"I was in advanced contact with both clubs and I spoke to both coaches."

Does this mean Robbie will get the job? Afterall it would be no use having Robbie speak with Hazard if he'll(Robbie) be leaving anyway. What a Face

Seriously guys, you paid for a guy around 50m when you already have players like Ramires. He is definately not worth 50m or more and well he won't be suited with Di Matteos tactics so you either get rifd of Di Matteo and employ a coach who will use a different strategy that will suit Hazards game or you improve him so that he is suited with Di Matteo's tactics. You also have Hulk for around 60m which is good buy for a replacement for Drogba though he will take time to develop into the style of the Premier League

You're gonna tell us what kind of manager Di Matteo is??

Go watch any of his former teams while he was in charge, then get back to us....

We haven't heard anything on Managers in a while. I have a feeling unless an underdog team wins the Euro's we will keep RDM.

If France do well I can see us getting Blanc.

Honestly, I think that may be part of the reason it's taking so damn long. If reports of the last few months are to be believed, we're being linked with several of the Euro managers, with Blanc and Low's names coming up in particular.

Would be a bad move to wait that long in my opinion, but it might be the reason for the delay.

First of all, Hazard was signed for £32M NOT £50M, and Hulk is £38M NOT £60M. DUnno where you pulled out all those numbers from. Laughing

Secondly, the fact that Di Matteo used defensive tactics against Barca and Bayern doesn't mean those are his natural tactics as a coach. In fact, they're NOT at all. Ever watched West Brom while he was there? No? Okay. How about MK Dons? Won't blaming for never seeing MK play though.

I'll give you a more recent one. Against Napoli did we sit back and defend? Didn't we give Napoli a 4-1 spanking? No? Yes? Okay then. :coffee:

He said at the end of the campaign that he wanted to go on holdiays though he was happy if the club wanted him to stay. His tactics in the Champions League will not work in the Premier League and thats what Im worried about.

THat's the thing. He used those tactics because our squad was limited and shorthanded in those situations. We were not as technical as Bayern and Barca(especially). Coming out to attack Barca would have been suicide, knowing we didn't have the midfield or attack to do that. He only used the squad in the best possibly way he could, given the situation.

Robbie played in a way that suited the team we have. This idea from you Barca fans that a team should have to play a style that doesn't suit them in any way whatsoever just to serve some farcical sense of football purism is nothing short of a joke.

Good managers adjust tactics to suit both their team and their opponent, and that's all Di Matteo did. Perhaps if your own manager had a little cognizance to that ideology he wouldn't have been knocked out in his own backyard by a 10 man side after playing the exact same failed way for 180 minutes straight.

Another reason Robbie should stay, he is an attacking manager, we now have an attacking team!

Bring in Steve Clarke as an assistant for defencive solidity and we will be set.

As for the butthurt, I aint even going to comment, just gonna point to my sig and drink some Coffee :coffee:

If so, that means two former CFC men will be running Historypool FC :brickwall:

Its a rumour I heard too. One of us is certainly wrong.

The old time Chelsea fans hate him right now though. I never got to see him play for us but they did and are hugely disappointed(understandably) that he went to Liverpool. They also get pissed the f**k off whenever he celebrates a Liverpool goal against us. Laughing

It does feel a little disappointing sometimes with his attitude towards Chelsea(not that its all that bad) since he left, compared with say Wilkins(who was shafted by the board but is still pro-Chelsea).

That being said, I'd still appreciate his defensive mind as part of our staff.

Yea idk. I though I read Brendan is taking alot of his staff to LFC with him including his coaching staff, and I'd think it would be unlikely for him to have two assistant managers. I don't know though, I could be wrong.

Guess we'll find out eventually.

On a side note, I think Steve Holland has done a fantastic job, when you consider both Barca matches and the CL final as well.

Yea, he never seems to get a mention when accolades are being talked about, sadly. He's the one person who's been consistently there even when others have come and gone.

Hell, even Eddie hasn't gotten much recognition for his work this year. Needless to say, there's a LOT of praise to go around for this season's achievements.
