Don't see why its hard to decipher. We're rebuilding, we've released members of our squad and are bringing new players in therefore there's more of a chance for him to play regularly with us than there is with Barca/Real who already have establised stars in their starting XI.

A struggle between Chelsea and United? Wasn't it United and City two weeks ago?

It's twisted his words during french to English translation and what also wasn't mentioned was the interviewer mentioned those two and that is why Hazard mentioned them.

Pretty smart actually.... unless he is that good that he can break into the starting 11 of Barca or Real.... at Chelsea though he will be a starter for sure and be at the center of play, which is good for him as he is still developing.

Of course our main guys are old now but in over the last 12 years, we have kept all our star players. More so in the last 9 years. We don't sell to rivals. NEVER.

..hazard wanted to go to madrid first you know. it was only after we stopped showing intrest in him that he looked at other teams.

and what i think hazard means in the quote is that he would rather play than sit the bench simple as that, he wouldnt be a gauranteed starter at madrid or barca.

maybe he has ambitions of playing at madrid or some other team, its not like he has to stay at chelsea for ever, just run his contract out.

What would Hazard gain at Barca/Madrid that he wouldn't be able to achieve at Chelsea?

money? no, even though tax law are favorable in Spain.

marketing potential? English media hype-machine ftw.

weather? he is no Ronaldo, so i doubt it would be an issue.

Trophies? No, Roman has promised him to be part of the next great project at Chelsea. Probably he knows we will sign players like Hulk and possibly Modric.

Right now Madrid/Barca are the "it" club, but that can definitely change if we go on our run.

if he does live up to his hype and becomes one of the best in the world, we will take the massive transfer fee and wish him luck. Not everyone is going to be a Drogba, Lampard, and Cech i understand that, and unlike Arsenal we are not insecure about our status. So you won't see a similar saga like Ronaldo or Csec at Chelsea.
