Read my post above.... the only debt we own is to the owner himself we owe no debt to the banks or anyone else for that matter...
And as far as wages go we are 13th in the league and one of the few clubs to make a profit....
This how we have 131m debt is very misleading....

Theres still massive strides to be made but the fact we made a substantial profit last season and have halved the wage bill while improving the team.
That 131m comes from the 140m loan from Ashley to stop a cashflow problem at the time....
Also i have no problem with Ashley anymore and most Newcastle fans dont... he's doing an amazing job on the financial side and everything is going great....
The only thing that people are pissed off with him over is some of the PR disasters since he became owner like renaming the stadium etc etc.
Of course we were pissed off with selling the likes Carroll, Enrique, Nolan and Barton but we have now seen he was right.
I am still not happy with the stadium renaming as is no one else but all in all he's doing a great job.
Nice to see Newcastle fans recognising this
Ashley has backed Newcastle United financially without reservations and has done some good transfer business, too. Appointing Pardew turned out to be a fine move as well. Good if / that fans realize when their club is being run well.

Re: Premier League Debt Table
Yep, but iam pretty certain this is due to the fact everything is going fantastically on and off the pitch and he kept to his promises of investing back into the team signing the likes of Ba, Cisse, Cabaye, Santon etc etc and giving Tiote, Coloccini and Krul long term contracts.....
If things go wrong fans are fickle and he will most likely be the first to be blamed unfortunately not saying i will but some people will....
I am fine with us selling players aslong as the fees are re-invested back in the club..... be it with new contracts or improving youth developement or new players its all good to me.

Re: Premier League Debt Table
didn't wolves get some kind of "parachute payment", basically prize money for getting relegated?

Re: Premier League Debt Table
well in that case they got promotion prize money, still a one-off payment that doesn't signify how well the club's being run...

Re: Premier League Debt Table
Man U's debt might have increased they didn't do well this year and didn't go far in CL. While they also spent almost 50mil this year
While Chelsea also spent around 90mil
Villa's Debt might go down as they made over 20mil in transfers from Young and Dowing
Arsenal's debt back up to 137mil
and btw this is all net debt not gross debt

Because their owners spent their own money....
and didn't Chelsea create like a holding or something where they moved all the move the owed to Roman if he ever wanted it
