“Alex has four caps now, and it’s great for his confidence and it will be great for Arsenal when we come back and play together – perfect!” said Walcott.
Looks like he is signing with Arsenal.

he must actually fear Alex.. If Walcott continues being inconsistent his starting place is going to Alex.. Cant see another position for Walcott in our side..Raptorgunner wrote:“Alex has four caps now, and it’s great for his confidence and it will be great for Arsenal when we come back and play together – perfect!” said Walcott.

So i will think twice or hesistate to give him a long improved contract.. And i think this is exactly what Wenger is doing..

Say what you will, but we need both of them. Alex is still young and we shouldnt be playing him 50 games a season. No youngster should play more than 25-30 infact. And Theo has always worked harder and improved himself everytime he had a challenge - look back at the WC snub. And Alex will shift to midfield eventually - he is much better utilised there.. Though it would be a few years before we see that..

I know I have been hard on Theo, but I would give him as long as contract as he wants.
It would be a shame if he leaves us, We gave DIaby and Djourou long contracts it would be a joke if we turn Walcott down. I think 80k a week is a good deal for both side.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Arsenal have reportedly agreed a deal for Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud and are only waiting until for Euro 2012 to finish before announcing it.
France Football are claiming last year’s Ligue 1 top scorer has decided to join the Gunners and agreed a four-year deal, though the details of the transfer are yet to be revealed.
The report says that the deal to take the France international to Emirates Stadium will be officially announced once the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine has concluded.
Arsene Wenger has been busy recruiting in the attacking department this summer, already having secured the signing of Germany international Lukas Podolski.
The next step for the French tactician will be resolving the issue surrounding Arsenal captain Robin van Persie’s contract and the year left on it.
The Dutchman will at least have more time to think about his future now, as Holland were knocked out of Euro 2012 on Sunday night following a third straight loss, this time 2-1 to Portugal.
Giroud’s 21 goals last season helped take Montpellier to their first ever league title and he was awarded the Golden Boot over PSG’s Nene, who also scored 21, due to fewer of his strikes being penalties.
Other reports have suggested Moroccan flop Marouane Chamakh may be used as a makeweight in the deal, but there has been no indication of this in the France Football report.

I like the sound of that. After the '99.9% complete' stories of his contract and the subsequent death of all rumors linking him to us it's interesting to see the deal be revived. Him, Giroud, Podolski maybe an AM and a versatile player who could fill in at LB or RB would be a great window that would give us stellar depth.

Van Persie Will Stay At Arsenal Says Wenger
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7828912/Wenger-Van-Persie-will-stay
Is it too early to celebrate?
"He will stay at Arsenal," Wenger told the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
"There is no reason why a top player, a big champion would want a move to Serie A - in terms of the prestige of the league, the level of play or financial considerations.
"If he moves there, I will buy you a caramello."

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Why would we be after Ben Arfa? He'd be an unnecessary signing, especially at that price, and we already have Walcott and Chamberlain for the right hand side.
I also think he still has to prove he's consistent and not just going through a Nasri-esque phase of good form.

wow, really? for Ben Arfa? what a joke. Just because he starts a match for France in the Euros shouldn't mean jack.

I know you would'nt do a Liverpool, but that's what would we want and considering he's on a long contract if a team dont give us what we want he will stay its that simple lol.
@lenear
Why should we care what its worth? we are not in the business of selling players for what they are worth we are in the business of selling players (if we have to) for as much as possible.
What's a fair price or not means nothing to us.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Bayern Munich have cleared the way for Arsenal to sign Yann M'Vila, after dropping their interest in the French midfielder.
The Bundesliga outfit are long-term admirers of tough-tackling M'Vila, who is set to quit Rennes this summer following a series of heated arguments with the club's coaching staff.
However, despite initial contact taking place between Bayern and Rennes, the 21-year-old is not Germany-bound, according to his agent Werner Baader.
"We had contact with Bayern Munich over Yann M'Vila," Baader told the French press.
"He is not the kind of player they are looking for at Bayern. They are looking for someone in this position, but they want somebody with different abilities."
The comments will be a welcome boost to Arsenal, who have been tracking M'Vila for around 12 months, and had been anticipating a bidding war between interested parties.
Yet it appears the France star will now be there for the taking, with Rennes reportedly willing to do business for as little as £12million.M'Vila is contracted until 2015 with Rennes.

Arsenal fullback Pedro Botelho is set to sign for Levante in Spain.
The left-back moved to Arsenal in 2007 but was immediately loaned out in order to get a work permit.
He has spent time on loan at Salamanca, Celta Vigo, Cartagena, Rayo Vallecano and Levante, where he featured in 14 league matches last season.
Levante now want to buy the Brazilian outright.
