Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Arsenal fullback Pedro Botelho is set to sign for Levante in Spain.
The left-back moved to Arsenal in 2007 but was immediately loaned out in order to get a work permit.
He has spent time on loan at Salamanca, Celta Vigo, Cartagena, Rayo Vallecano and Levante, where he featured in 14 league matches last season.
Levante now want to buy the Brazilian outright.

France Football says the young defender appeared on his way to the Gunners last month, but contact between all parties has gone cold in recent weeks.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have now made approaches to Montpellier about Yanga-Mbiwa's availability, but the 23 year-old harbours hopes of moving to England.

AS says Real are aware that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to take the 17 year-old midfielder to London.
Wenger failed with a move for Rodriguez last summer and remains interested. He has invited the player and his family to London to meet with coaching staff and tour the club's facilities.

Arsenal are stepping up their interest in Real Madrid striker Joselu.
The youngster is ready to leave Real after accepting he's well down the striker's pecking order.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for the former Spain Under-21 forward who would relish the chance to play in the Premier League.

Arsenal have joined the battle for Sunderland winger Stephane Sessegnon.
The Sunday Sun says the Gunners are understood to have made an initial enquiry about the Benin international – who has also been linked with newly-crowned Premier League champions Manchester City – but have been put off by the asking price.
Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill has repeatedly made it clear that he wants Sessegnon to stay on Wearside, but at the same time he knows that a mega-money bid would be too good to turn down – and would fund his own rebuilding plans.

Tottenham made an attempt to prise Steve Rowley away from Arsenal, it has been revealed.
The Mirror says the vision of chairman Daniel Levy and owner Joe Lewis revolves around producing more homegrown players and spotting potential stars who can be signed well before they hit their peak.
Tottenham even made audacious failed moves to try to prise Arsenal’s talent-spotter extraordinaire Rowley away from the Emirates to fulfill the vision.

Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City are all chasing Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente.
The Daily Star says the 27-year-old has been a long-term target for Tottenham, who reportedly pursued him last summer and again in January this year.
But Spurs could miss out on the Spain international if either Manchester City or Arsenal follow up their interest.
Bilbao president Josu Urrutia has referred all interested clubs to Llorente's £29 million price-tag.

Arsenal and Manchester City are ready to pounce for Chelsea striker Danny Sturridge.
Sturridge has been weighing up his options at Chelsea and will be left non-plussed by news today that they've failed with a bid for Wigan Athletic attacker Victor Moses.
City boss Roberto Mancini would love to bring Sturridge back to the Etihad, while Arsenal have also been linked with the England hopeful since the end of last season.

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is keen on Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner.
The Daily Star Sunday says Allardyce is leading the chase for the striker.
Stoke City, Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund have all taken note of his impressive performances so far in the tournament – but the striker is in no rush to sort out his future.
He said: “I have had many offers but I will not do anything until after the Euros. I am confident about the future.”

Swansea City are chasing Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner.
The Mirror says Michael Laudrup is keen on an ambitious bid to lure fellow Dane Bendtner to Swansea.
Bendtner is surplus to requirements at Arsenal as Arsene Wenger has already drafted in Cologne and Germany striker Lukas Podolski for next season.

Re: The Official Arsenal Summer Transfers/Rumours Thread
Olivier Giroud denied that he has reached an agreement to join Arsenal, despite confirmations that Montpellier were in negotiations with the London side.
The 25-year-old forward is a top transfer target of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, but the assertions of Giroud suggest there is still more work to be done if the France international is to join the Premier League club.
"I have not signed for Arsenal," was Giroud's curt reply to RMC Sport when quizzed on the topic following France's 2-0 loss to Sweden at Euro 2012.
Wenger is in the market for a new forward to bolster his striking options, and is eager to add the Ligue 1 top scorer to the club's ranks as they prepare for the possible departure of Robin van Persie.
Giroud fired Montpellier to the Ligue 1 title last season with 21 goals in 36 games.

We can only hope... M'Villa, Podi, and Giroud would be exceptional signings for us this summer...

Yes, but just those three is not a successful transfer season. We are still short of some varsatility. And we need to move quite a few players on, who are restricting our hand in wages. Plus we have those contracts which need tieing up. And ensure we aren't in the same situation next summer again with players on the final years of their contracts. Still lots to address this summer. And with Euros and the international trips to Africa and Asia, makes you wonder how we are going to accomplish this.

Agreed. Still lots to do this summer. But, if you look at our situation in previous years... I'd argue that we are off to a great start so far this summer (well, assuming that we DO end up getting Giroud and M'Villa). Still, the fact that these rumors are so strong and that we have already tied up Podolski this early is big... Lest we forget the disaster that was last summer
