Just the 9 goals in 5 games this season.

How many pens have City gotten? I swear every game it's like a guarantee they get a pen.

Re: The Official Sergio Aguero Appreciation Thread
aguero's issue at least at city has never been about lack of talent. argentina is another issue, he tends to look extremely ordinary with them. but yeah we expect these types of performances from him, he's among the best CFs in the game today. my issue with him has always been about fitness and injuries

Top 2 striker of the world (only Suarez ahead of him), Benzema, Lewandowski don't come close to Kun.

It'd be more interesting to see the per season numbers to separate the Pep years from the Pelle ones

Lmao another overhyped player, where is nick and the rest of the muppets praising this guy ahead of benzema, that killer instinct to miss great chances , so that falcao, cavani and now aguero, better than benzema .

Nah if he could recover his finishing ability then he could have success for a team which doesn't require him to press, pull defenders around and dribble.
He's just a lot more limited as a forward now, he could still be a success elsewhere.
This is assuming he doesn't get injury every 5 minutes which could very well happen.

Re: The Official Sergio Aguero Appreciation Thread
So how highly do you guys rate AGuero right now? After slumping for a while he's revitalizing his career over the past 1.5 years, and while he's certainly not going under the radar, neither are people praising him or excited about him. How does he currently stack against the other top forwards?

Re: The Official Sergio Aguero Appreciation Thread
Weird to say he was slumping since he has scored 25+ in the last 4-5 years consistently. But I do know what you mean.
He is an all time PL great. Easily. One of the best strikers I have seen in my life.
Always has been a top 5 striker in the world over the last 5 years.

Re: The Official Sergio Aguero Appreciation Thread
Yeah he doesn't garner much hype, not sure why..maybe because we're just accustomed to him banging in 25 a season? it seems normal for him. He's better than every other striker in the league besides Kane.

Re: The Official Sergio Aguero Appreciation Thread
He is also the best big game player in the league. Has an insane record against the top 6.

Re: The Official Sergio Aguero Appreciation Thread
He'll be sold this summer, if not the next. PL legend, and any team other top team will do good to have him, but City can get better fits.

Re: The Official Sergio Aguero Appreciation Thread
He's been injured a lot. I always thought Kompany was a fantastic defender, but he doesn't garner much hype either because.. he's injured a lot.
20+ goals a season may have been impressive 10-15 years ago, but that doesn't seem to be a big deal, nowadays. Who plays with defenders these days, anyway? I remember all the rage that was directed towards the now iconic, Roberto Carlos for his defensive shortcomings, but he would've been the perfect fullback in the modern game.

Re: The Official Sergio Aguero Appreciation Thread
He would be an EPL legend simply for that goal if that was all he had ever done.
However, he's clearly one of the all time great EPL goalscorers and will likely make it into the top 10 by the end of the season. He's done so at an absurd strike rate as well.
Truly one of a kind, one of the best strikers in the world consistently since his Atletico days.
