Re: Barça present complaint about condition of Giuseppe Meazza pitch
I really try to like milan but I dont like liers(hence why I dont like alves and busquets even though they are/close world class)dont understand why Milan agreed to water the pitch in the meeting before the game. If they would have just said no from the begging none of the BS would have happend...
Edit: and you RM/inter fans who are crying about Barca do know that mourinho slammed Moscow because of the artificial pitch. So why are you calling barca crybabies and not mourinho?

Re: Barça present complaint about condition of Giuseppe Meazza pitch
The Blaugrana were unhappy with the playing surface at San Siro, which cut up badly during the first-leg clash, and club officials aired their grievances during a post-game meeting with Uefa representative Mikalai Varabyov.
Milan, though, have now issued a public riposte on their official website in which they have claimed that Barca raised no concerns over the pitch after training at the venue on Tuesday evening.
"In reference to the official protest presented to Uefa by Barcelona regarding the condition of the San Siro pitch, AC Milan communicates that:
"1) The watering of the pitch, to be done within one hour before the game as agreed in the organisational meeting yesterday morning [Wednesday] and as per the regulations of the Uefa Champions League in section 14.15, was not carried out because of the conditions of high humidity on the pitch;
"2) The general condition of the pitch, on which Barcelona had trained the night before without raising any questions, was deemed suitable by both match officials and delegates from Uefa during the site visit yesterday morning."

What was the problem with the pitch? Slippery and no water dont seem to go together.
It's hard to say what the exact problem was. The facts are that if you tried to play the ball on the ground it jumped all over the place and made if very difficult to do so.
When people ran on the pitch huge patches were coming up so the turf was totally loose.
Players just jogging or running strait with no one challenging them would slip and fall down (this happened numerous time to both teams). You couldn't plant your foot and make any type of side to side move.
Ibra was in perfect position to round the last defender and score but couldn't do so because he knew he would fall down and fluffed a shot to Valdes.
Basically making any sharp cut was out of the question and planting your foot was a no no as the field would rip out from under you.
I have seen fields where the ball jumps a little bit while playing it on the ground Mallorca being a prime candidate but I have never seen people fall down with no one even challenging them, or players after the first 20-30 minutes just know they can't cut on the surface so they were tip toeing around the field.
It was almost like they were running on Ice. FWIW the side BArca attacked in the first half looked a lot worse then the side they attacked in the second half for what ever reason.

Now that the pitch issue has been solved, can we discuss how laser beam effected Messi's performance and stopped him from scoring a hat trick.Se7en wrote:The Blaugrana were unhappy with the playing surface at San Siro, which cut up badly during the first-leg clash, and club officials aired their grievances during a post-game meeting with Uefa representative Mikalai Varabyov.

I bet catalonians are protecting the water pipes at the camp nou with their lives, afraid from Galliani sending a "plumber squad" before the return leg. :lol!:

dnmac4 wrote:The last two teams who have played on that pitch in the CL have both been outraged at the condition of it.
You can vilify Barca if you want or maybe just maybe there is something to what Arsenal and Barca are saying.
BTW, if Arsenal or Barca don't lodge formal complaints nothing will ever be done to fix the field.
I am old enough to remember when the Eagles played at "The Vet" and people used to say the same things you see on here. "Teams" need to stop crying about the field", "there just sore losers" etc etc.
Unitl Wendell Davis tore both his knees on the turf during a routine play and Michael Irvin suffered a spinal cord injury due to the surface of the field and neither player ever played again. There were numerous other injuries.
After Michael Irvin's injury players refused to sign with Philly and some teams refused to play there and the fans stopped saying "stop crying about the field" "there just sore losers" and demanding they fix the field which they did exactly one year after Irvin's injury.
The old saying applies here, "If we don't learn from history were bound to repeat it."
Maybe a world class player (could even be a Milan player) needs to ruin there career before some of you will pay attention to the fact that the last two teams who have played there are saying the field isn't fit to play on and there just stating a fact not making an excuse.
I don't log in or post much, but I wanted to make a point of agreeing with you here. A player is bound to get hurt if the field conditions don't improve. It was obvious after the Arsenal game that they *bleep* with the pitch, and you could tell something was up in the Barca game as well.

You mean the one that happened a month ago? Get over it. Your team played like shit that game, Milan played better and won. That's the extent of it.

lol i dont get it why there is so much jealously and that pitch becomes the cause of everything .... first time i have encountered some strange people in my life.
im pretty sure had they won ... there would have been no complains whatsoever.
when something goes against them then, yea referee is the problem pitch is the problem.... tend to forget that its because of their own mistake that they got result they deserved.

It doesn't change the fact that the pitch was a disgrace.
We played badly, yes... but when so much of our play goes through the flanks and wide players, and the grass out there was atrocious... then sure, this will affect the game.

When Milan win:"It's okay we'll take the blame for the pitch"
When Milan don't win:"It's not our fault the pitch was shit"

They were supposed to water the pitch one hour before the game, that's after they trained there.Se7en wrote:harhar11 wrote:Ganso wrote:there is no denying that was 100% us lolRealGunner wrote:and whats the excuse for Arsenal game ?
