What it's not like those defenders had pressing tactics or precision tackles back then. They went for the tackle 50/50. It's easy to score on defenders when they are on the floor. Plus I'm not going to discuss football from over 100 years ago because we never saw it nor our parents. It's a pointless discussion really. In the early days, football heavily favoured defenders and strikers had minimal protection. To score 67 and 74 goals respectively in that sort of atmosphere is mind boggling and not something that should be taken lightly
