The first thing I thought was "Oh damn."
The second thing was "I hate UEFA"
The third thing was, "Screw the pundits, let's do this!"
If we have our full squad, I'm confident we'll give Barca a run for their money.

i have faith as well. We didn't play bad last time. Just learn from our mistakes.
We need boateng back and Pato my play an important role as well.
Need a good win at home then go to barca and park bus and play counter.

The last thing we want to do is to chase the tie from the very beginning in my eyes. I will concede however that Barcelona may equally want the breathing space to react at home, so the situation may present itself well to both sides at this point in time, though ideally we'd have our strongest side at home, which will depend on recoveries from injury in a short space of time.

Re: Barcelona it is
I hate to speak cliches, but for us, it's a win-win situation.
Granted, Barca have little to prove while we have truckloads, but we are underdogs and this label on our forehead can do us only and only good.
If we win, we will have beaten the best team in Football history, and if we lose, we have challenged the best team in history and will have learned a lot and gained a big deal of experience.
They are no pushovers (did you think so!!?) but if we, somehow miraculously see our most important men return to form (and I mean a real return to form, not just some recovery from injuries), we stand a really big chance, say 30% or 40%.
Thiago, Van Bommel, Boateng and Ibra are considered by many people to be our most important players, but I believe Nesta and Pato, if fit and sharp, can equal the importance of all those guys on their own.
Nesta's 20-year experience and Pato's directness and pace (as both displayed in the group stages) will be our greatest assets, we just need them so bad.
I'm sorry Blaugrana buddies, I love your team and all, but I hope your most important players get injured for a two-month period starting tomorrow, we can definitely deal with Cuenca and Tello, but not really with Messi and Iniesta.
Somebody get our injured comrades match-fit! I'll give the guy all my money (around $74)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barcelona's last Champions League match ended 7-1 in their favour. Ring any bells?

- United's scoreline against Roma in the round before we knocked them out on the way to our last title. #randompointlessfacts

Re: Barcelona it is
I'm excited for this match and scared at the same time, we don't have in my opinion our most important mid for the first game and that's Van Bommel. I think fielding Ambrosini instead would be a nightmare against Barcelona so my most logical 11 would be this. This is the 11 I think Allegri has in mind, if it were up to me Emanuelson would be at LB

Pato's return would be great even if he's not in form. Barca rate him really highly, so I expect him to create space for our other forwards at the very least.

after that run he made at Camp Nou , even Bolt would rate him highly..
in a more serious note , it would be very good news. Though , i thought Pato is already ok to play , but he doesn't because Allegri doesn't want to rush him in fears of getting injured straight away again.

Re: Barcelona it is
Hey Milanisti!
Long time guys, sorry been really busy with work and studies. But I have been watching Milan with a keen eye over the past few weeks.
I know we have Barca but it is not all doom and gloom. This year I feel their reputation precedes them and they're using it in Europe. Messi is playing in God Mode but he is essentially carrying them at the moment. Their deficiencies in la liga are plain to see and they're not as confident as the media purports them to be. Also when called upon, the defence has been really poor, lucky for them though that they control the majority of possession in each game so many teams don't notice just how weak that back 4 is.
If they can lose at Osasuna in the league, they can certainly lose at the San Siro. Keeping things tidy at the Nou Camp, nice and compact, not like the 2nd leg against Arsenal will be sufficient to take the tie at home. People are ranting about the 7-1 over Leverkusen and majestic Messi, but the main contributing factor to that ridiculous score was that they respected Barca too much, a real defeatist complex.
Allegri's 4-3-1-2 is golden, it just needs the right players to be fit and I'm confident to win the tie is possible.

Re: Barcelona it is
Destiny, that's what it is.
Last time, Barcelona faced a Milanese side in the group stages and drew the first match and won the second one.
They met again and the team from Milan was the only Italian team left in the competition, and the first match was at San Siro and the second one at Camp Nou. The team from Milan won and went on to lift the trophy.
And also what dostoevsky pointed out.
Barca and their diving antics, no matter how mighty their deception is, cannot deceive destiny (and Abate)
Oh and also, Barcelona is not THE greatest football team in history. One of the greatest, of course but the absolute GOAT? No, and if anyone is up for serious debate I'm all for it. Neither is Messi the best player in history but I have a felling he will be. But not yet.

Re: Barcelona it is
I agree with mtd's mid, allegri should start seedorf in van bommel's position with aquaman and nocerino flanking him while pato starts in robinho's place.
I'm really confident on our chances in this game and hope we recover our best players in time 4 the game
i believe emmanuelson would also be useful as a sub in this game to hit barca on the counter when they get tired
my only concern is with the leftback position and i just pray antonini puts up the kind of showing he did against arsenal except he has to concentrate more on defense this time
boateng, ibra, nocerino and aquaman should try shots whenever presented with the chance cos that's one of the weaknesses of valdes
